Speaking of inquistion, i'm slowly but surely adding more models to my own collection of the same.

I've got Gideon Lorr incoming, Sadly i haven't been able to find a decent copy of his rules (some white dwarf only thing, #304)

i've since got more than in that picture, and i really need to drag my good camera out to the club to finish taking picts of my collection.

I love both of the last two posts. I think the Commissar Skull is a neat idea that subtlety suggests a history. Do you have your own story of how it came to be or is it a mystery? I really like inquisitor and his retinue above as well.

I think the wonderful thing about the sisters of battle was the variety of pilgrims, holy men and penitent ne'er do wells that for me encapsulated the grim dark madness. I think the same about the tech -medieval nature of inquisitorial retinues. I think we have lost that of late in 40k and it is veering back towards having less depth in the abject madness of the human race being torn between technology and hysterical superstition.

E: also with regards the post with picture above that: Ghost Hand, the autumn statement her in the uk has just been presented to parliament. In it our chancellor, George Osbourne has stated that we have the fastest growth in the G7 and that our deficit is set to be halved. The government has claimed it was their policies that has achieved this. Here among the 40k community we know better.

On behalf of the British people I would like to thank you Ghost Hand for propping up the British economy with your huge forgeworld purchases.

I have a quick question about death company dreadnoughts. I'm putting together mne, and im just curious if anyone knows if there is anything in the rules that states it cant take a flamer and melta as its ranged weapons, as opposed to one of those and a storm bolter.

In the current codex the default setting is melta SB and you can upgrade the SB to a heavy flamer. The new codex I don't know but I can't imagine it changing. It is a better load out and on the ones where I had a choice it's what I have done (I have ebay salvages and metal ones in my collection)

I haven't thought up a backstory yet but I probably will eventually.

As far as the actual parts go the servo skull is from this badass kit: http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-40000/Titans/TITAN-TECH-PRIEST.html

Something I thought was really noticeable on opening the box was the difference between old and new kits. If you put the modern sprues (Warriors and Furioso) next to the decade-or-older kits (Carnifex and Terminators) it's really striking how sparse the latter are, and how much they're cramming into the new ones. It's a great example of how far plastic kits have come in the last few years.

Yeah, the Carnifex kit is especially noticeable. It's insane how much they can fit in now.

Also at minimal eBay prices I am getting a Tyranid Warriors box and the LE Broodlord for literally $0. I'm okay with this transaction.

Hell, the carnifex kit is still solid with a bunch of options. It was pretty much the first of the modern kits. I've always had trouble getting the middle part of the carapace to fit properly for some reason. The back end always sticks up a little when the vents line up.

While we're talking about old kits, I stumbled across an image of a fire warrior sprue somewhere the other day and I was surprised at how sparse that kit is. I've never built any of the things so here's a picture I pulled off of google:

I realize it's a squad without any real options and the models themselves are fine, but it's a little amusing to think that this is still being sold alongside things like the Deathwing box.

Instead of the psi-tracker, try the Psyocculum from Codex:Inquisition. It's a similar piece of wargear that gives you BS10 against Psykers. I wouldn't even worry about the purity seals, and the Excruciator change sounds fair.

You can run as many Orks as can legally fit in 10 units, either to the minimum or maximum. If you max it out though you're either playing an insane joke list or a game of Apocalypse.

Just assembled the Spawn of Cryptus model--man this model is nice and big. Something like 150% of the usual Broodlord size.

In the Emperor's name, let none survive.
Having played thrice against the tide, 100 models with a dok and a kff is drat good while being just on the right side of maneuverable - and that was with 'competitive' terrain placement where the ork guy made sure he had clear avenues to move down. Any more than 100, especially without protection, is going to be smashed to Kingdom come by prelates hitting 8-9 models a shot.

Yeah, the FW sprue and a bunch of the others look pretty sad these days. You get a couple leg poses, one arm pose, and zero customization bitz at all. The Crisis box is also really unimpressive- I mean, it's great you get one of every weapon, but the locked arms and legs and super-fragile ankles make it pretty impossible to do anything interesting with them.

I'm making "generals" for a map-based campaign, and using on the point system in the rules I'm wondering what you guys think... they may choose their Warlord Trait from available tables, and may make one FoC category shift. So I've decided to make two Autarchs into pseudo-Phoenix Lords. A third will be a Spiritseer that makes Wraithlords as Troops.

Autarch (175):
- Warp Spiders are Troops
- Eldar Warlord Trait: See of the Shifting Vector (Deep-Strike within 6" non-scatter)
- Warp Jump Generator (15)
- Shard of Anaris (40)
- Fusion Gun (10)
- Banshee Mask (5)
- Shrouded (20)
- Stubborn (3)
- +1 Attack (5)
- +1 Iniative (4)
- +1 Weapon Skill (3)

Autarch (160):
- Shining Spears are Troops
- Warlord Trait: Undying Flame (Re-roll failed saves until an unsaved wound is sustained)
- Eldar Jetbike (15)
- Celestial Lance (35)
- Banshee Mask (5)
- Stealth (10)
- Fearless (5)
- Counter-Attack (3)
- +1 Attack (5)
- +1 Iniative (4)
- +1 Weapon Skill (3)
