we want to bring a reddit bar to new york. this will be a space bar for the community.

we will be a casual spot during the day. fast wifi. night full on bar that is reddit everything. and gif parties.

each day, we want to utilize the platform and community to make the bar experience better. whether this is work day playlists uploaded to /r/alienbardaymusic, adding party gifs to /r/alienbargifparty or contributing to the drink and food specials of the day /r/alienbarspecials - we want to use reddit to make your experience exciting and awesome.

we also want to exhibit community members - whether its showing off designers' work, in-bar photoshop battles, curating your own tv channel of funny videos and gifs for a night, we want to be an interactive experience!

why we are raising funds:

we have not yet sought investment in the project.
opening a bar in new york is not cheap.
in order to make this experience awesome, we need to invest alot of capital in led screens and science.
we want to compensate our workers with fair wages - so we need more money for that too.
Risks and challenges

starting a bar in new york is difficult and expensive. you need to meet with many people in regards to licenses, regulatory issues and the local community. all of these things serve as hurdles. we also want to make sure we hire amazing bartenders, bouncers and waiters - and hiring always takes a long time to find perfect fits to help your experience.

if this is successfully funded, we have to work off the feedback we get back from the community and also have to get the location ready, hire the right people and get through the required paperwork and meetings. this could lead to some production delays and we would like to make all the backers aware of this.
