They took her to a vet and it was apparently fluid build up from her heart. If she was pregnant her teats would be more pronounced. Man, I never thought I'd use that phrase outside a vet office.

This is an Eastern Barred Bandicoot: They're so endangered that they've actually gone extinct in the wild and only exist in zoo collections at the moment. One Australian zoo is raising money to re-release a small number into the wild but we've got so many feral predators in this country that they wouldn't last long on their own so the zoo is actually training up some Maremma sheepdogs to guard them. The dogs are currently being trained with stuffed toys:

They just require a lot of exercise, but personality-wise they're extremely gentle, sensitive and affectionate. Mine is a huge baby named Penny. She is unphotogenic but rest assured she is cute. They are also known for their quirky behavior. (She sits like this all day) Vizslas are a type of dog temperament known as "velcro dogs" so they want to be with you, ALWAYS, and need to get in on the action of whatever you're doing. This isn't her but this is a different Vizsla.

Did the Quimbys' cat Picky-Picky like to eat watermelon rinds, or am I just mixing that up with the time he ate the face off the jack o'lantern Mr Quimby had carved for Halloween?

My old dog used to have a pen that functioned as his nighttime bed. It was lined with old blankets and pillows. When I'd bring him to the pen at night, I'd cover him with the blankets and give him a pillow for his head. You could tell he loved the way it felt - I'd come back to get him in the morning and he wouldn't have budged an inch from the same position he went to sleep in.
