BFB scouts are running wild, as expected. Everything else seems fine. No pomsons or phlogs coming out though.

Yeah, BFB + pocket pistol scouts were near indestructible. The soldiers were mostly running the direct hit, which basically completely shut down all the gunslinger attempts. The short circuit saw a few uses and completely shut down some plays, especially when a roamer was trying to make a suicide play for the medic. Neither demomen did any crazy demoknight business but there were a few cabers.

There were a few suggestions for doing it again but with a pick/ban system to cut down the number of possibilities and get rid of some "broken" weapons like the BFB.

I have fond memories of a time I killed a demoknight be headshotting him with the ambassador and then side stepping to watch his corpse fly off the structure we were on. As for that comment about cheapness, pfft, Demoknights are easy to kill, keep your distance, or if they're that much of a problem, go demoknight yourself. Or pick another class and just use melee only , it's surprisingly effective against them.

Your sensitivity is probably different. If you know the dpi of your own and new mice, use this site https://www.notalent.org/sensitivity/sensitivity.htm to find out what ingame sensitivity setting you need to keep things the same.

This was cut because it didn't really have anything to do with EOTL, it might pop back up in the future.

This was cut because it looked bad the moment people broke formation, and they had trouble figuring out making it look right and keeping character personality when, uh, turning.

So there is, even after 8 years, a style of play that I just don't get.

Those engineers who build a level 3 sentry at spawn. Then carry it slowly to wherever it's going to go. Usually they get stabbed, scouted or killed before they can get there. But sometimes they get lucky or - more usually - they're defending a spot that there's no fighting at.

Then, they'll take the Wrangler out, and shoot aimlessly at walls and stuff.

I know looking for logic in the mind of the Eastern European toddlers who play this game is futile but what the gently caress are these people thinking? Does anyone know?

Why do they move the mouse in a tiny circle every time they shoot a rocket?

It might not be a circle, it could just be a slight twitch. Maybe a super sensitive mouse and clicking the button causes it to twitch?

I think it's a case of making very fast, twitchy flick movements and then immediately correcting on overshooting, rather than coming to a complete stop after firing.

the motions remind me of how i flick my mouse around when fatscouting so i can reliably land more meaty shots into the thick of an enemy. it helps a lot in that everything sort of flows together and you're more focused on where you're aiming at any given point instead of trying to be purely reactive with your aiming.

It's actually a little jarring seeing the "TF2 style" applied to Asteroid. The no-textures gave suggested a more retro-modern sci-fi approach. (I know TF2 is supposed to be 60s spy-tech, but the aesthetic doesn't really extend to, say, Moonraker and its ilk, IMO.)

Seeing it skinned similar to the other indoor TF2 maps is...a little weird.

They're scared of dying and don't want to move too far away from spawn for fear that they might die. So they pick the most defensive class and pick what they deem to be the safest place on the map (their spawn because it has infinite health and ammo/metal inside) and build a gun that they believe will kill anyone who comes close. Even if their gun is destroyed they can just run back into spawn and phew, almost died there!

This is also why they absolutely will not go anywhere unless they can bring a level 3 sentry with them, and why on earth would they build their "stop people from killing me" gun anywhere near the front lines? That's where the enemy team is! Being near the enemy team increases the likelihood that they will be killed!

They're new to the game and don't know where the metal pickups on the map are, so they just use the spawn cabinet. Then they try to walk the sentry up to "a good spot". Invisible spies could be anywhere, so you better shoot at walls just to be sure nobody's about to stab you.

You slow down and can't jump while you're spinning up your minigun, so the hop allows you to maintain your speed. It's only really useful around corners so that you don't slowly waddle out for snipers to pick you off, and when you're advancing real fast on the front lines.
