It's extremely helpful for sure. If dark fists and wizard dropkick were his default set he'd probably jump up a whole tier in effectiveness compared to defaults. The kick's hop gives him a real punish for projectiles, which are a huge pain otherwise, and the angle also makes it so that the kick outright beats most moves that attack directly forward where a normal wizard foot will often clank unless the timing is just right. I definitely overused it in those matches, but it is my only way to effectively beat/punish shield breaker from a distance.
