pretty fucking embarrassing to watch
Votes should be weighed based on when you first played international football: so good footballing countries like Scotland and England would get loads of votes while corrupt nations like Qatar would get no votes

Votes should be based on how many clubs from that country I can name.

Votes should be based on how many European Championships the country has won.

I don't see why successful countries should get a stronger vote. How can you justify that? The argument can certainly be made that they'd only change things if it increases their advantage on the field.

There's nothing wrong with the voting system as it is. It's right that all member states get one vote. What's not right is that those countries with money can very easily buy votes from the poorest countries, with no consequences.

And now the selection of hosts will be done through a full member vote rather than Exco.

My major problem is it's pretty hard to bribe an official large amounts of money in Western Countries with active press corps but for an official in Papua New Guinea bribe and graft are just the way things are and no one will bat an eye.

There's also the issue that Papua New Guinea or the Comoros Islands or St. Kitts and Nevis have a virtually nonexistent chance of ever making it to an actual World Cup, like literally ever, so they have no incentive not to host the next one in the middle of a North Korean concentration camp as long as that's whoever provides the biggest incentives for them personally or for their own lovely little fiefdom.

It's a chance for double bribery, it's really something special. FIFA have outdone themselves yet again.

One idea floated is apparently to have as short a period between the two voting processes as possible so that everyone (including the countries that don't get past the first round) would have to double dip with their bribery.
