Rick Perry did Air Force ROTC (which he was terrible at, hahaha) so I'm surprised that the required phys ed thing wasn't waived by that. Or maybe it was part of it. Seriously though, Rick Perry was bad at ROTC. Think about that. For context: I got an A every semester in ROTC and from my posting you can probably properly surmise, I am a complete shitbag. in australia it's compulsory to have swimming lessons in schools but that's because literally everyone lives on the coast and therefore near water so kids drowning is a massive concern every summer
