I'm basing my opinion on what two artists of the actual show have said in this very thread. They needed insurance so they went to the union. That was it. Apparently I don't know the rest of the story.

It may not be fair, but you can't point out and shame the companies or the businessmen who are actually responsible for the screwing. So people have to try to exert pressure through the public figures who might actually care about angry people and have some ability to feel shame.

The network or the financiers should probably give these shows a better budget considering the demands of quality and production turnaround. I'm not saying it's not a lovely thing, I'm just saying paying to fix it themselves isn't the answer.
