I mean, it's not as if either of those symbols have any completely different meaning other than "I am a believer of both Hinduism and Asatru" Maybe if they truly are both they could perhaps choose a different design? How about Thor and Ganesh, back to back, fending off the hordes at Ragnarok? A much better design, and one that isn't going to get you bundled in with Neo Nazis, assuming that isn't your goal.

Is Hatred trying to sell itself pretty much solely on the basis of being an edgy murder simulator? Yes. Is this something people should be upset about? No. It really is no worse content-wise than a lot of other violent games that are on Steam already. I'm not really a fan of the game itself and don't plan to buy it but I'm glad that this game was put back on Steam Greenlight, and it deserves to be there just as much as Manhunt and Postal deserve to be there. Similarly, I didn't like some other "controversial" games like Gone Home, yet I don't think that game should be removed from Steam either just because I don't like virtual novels or whatever. Just because a game makes you uncomfortable doesn't mean it should be censored. Also, I think it's really dumb and creepy that people are obsessing over the developers to the point of deeply investigating into their lives to try and find a reason to hate them. Pretty much all that is doing is helping the developers by giving them more free publicity and making the game seem more taboo than it really is.

Man I was making fun of this game when all I saw was the minute thirty-four trailer that looked dumb and boring and trying too hard to be the edgiest. When did it become about Nazis and censorship and strawmen attacking each other viciously? What happened to making fun of a stupid piece of poo poo?

Jack Thompson's gonna be in that "Sarkeesian Effect" movie, he gets thrown a softball question about his views on video games and then says that Anita's a dumb liberal or something. Also I'm probably not going to play Hatred because I'm a huge video game softy who only goes for the Lawful Good routine at all times, but it has a really cool logo and I can respect that.
