I don't qualify for UI benefits. I'm in South Jersey and I just updated my resume and sent several out already. Hopefully something bites.

The company we service doesn't even want its contractors to fire people on site at all. The food services provider here does it over the telephone. My company at least has the decency to arrange a person to person meeting offsite.

I hate to say it, but being there for 4 months doesn't engender much of a relationship for severance pay. Although in NJ, if you've worked for 18 months consecutively, you are eligible for UI - Xenoletum, be sure to file for UI no matter what. At least get your name in the system; if you don't qualify for UI benefits directly you get access to the options the UI offices can provide. Placement, training, etc.

Thank you everyone for your outpouring of support. I've already been going crazy with resumes online so hopefully something shows up. They escorted me out because I pretty much had an emotional breakdown the minute they told me due to a bunch of e/n Bullshit with my life. They didn't want me losing my poo poo in front of everyone and causing a scene. No severance pay because I was just a simple phone jockey/email wrangler.

Guys, it finally happened. After an unlucky lightning strike at our transmitter caused a huge budget cut and scrapping of my earlier approval for upgrades, corporate has finally REapproved upgrading our domain controller from NT to 2012. They also approved upgrading our small-business grade router (which shits itself and shuts down whenever pulling >20Mbps) to an enterprise grade firewall with filtering, antivirus, and bandwidth allocations. I just finished making the orders and they should be here in early January. It's a Christmas miracle A Frosty Witch fucked around with this message at 00:09 on Dec 20, 2014 |

I was much happier with that outcome.

I realize it's not as bad as Xenoletum's situation but just got told there will be no bonus this year so that's fun. Got promoted to what they call level 2.5 in here and that means I'm also ineligible for the crappy wage increase that replaced the bonus. 3rd year in a row we have had money taken away from us, overtime or whatever. Only my fault that I am still here I guess. I really need to make a move from answering the drat phone to lovely financial advisers who need everything fixed nooooooooow.
