Who should we send, the tech specialist, the robot who is a computer, the soldier guy, or the space ninja?' or maybe vague hints like 'we need someone to lead a squad as distractions, should we send the old guy who has proven he's a bad leader, the person with military training as a squad leader, the person built up as being a genius tactician, or space batman?' It does rather hinge on the fact that I paid any attention to any of the idiots I have to lug around for the entire game. I had no idea what anybody was supposed to be because they're all idiots as far as I was concerned, and I didn't use any of them. I think I rolled the entire game with the krogan and an engineer to open boxes. Also the game kinds tells you to get the mission done ASAP so I didn't bother with the loyalty missions, because god drat it you worthless plebs should be able to do something right without me holding your goddamn hand. But nope, all useless, mostly dead. I fought off like a million bug dudes by myself and killed bosses and you dumbasses can't even open a door without getting your rear end shot because of your stupid baby problems. Ugh. Party members should be more like that brotherhood of steel lady from fallout new vegas who punches everything with her shotgun fist and carries a workbench in her backpack. i.e useful. Also cool. Alternatively you could just use archers to kill everyone OwlFancier posted:Also the game kinds tells you to get the mission done ASAP A lot of games tell you to do this though

Not trying to be mean but Mass Effect 2 is a pretty easy game and if your party members are dying constantly then well, perhaps Commander Shepard should have been left to die on Akuze...

All of the Mass Effect 2 characters are pretty cool for that 70/80 shlocky Sci Fi vibe they're going for. It's pretty much a really good episode of Star Trek and you're Shatner in spirit. I've got to reinstall ME2. It's such a cool game. Also the suicide mission was pretty drat easy if you paid attention. Who do I send into this vent, a receptacle designed for hot gases despite the propaganda Die Hard has perpetuated: A robotic hacker or a fragile fleshbag?

Miranda: We need a TECH EXPERT, somebody who is good at HACKING and ELECTRONICS to go through the vents Aha, they said vents! Thane, you're in. Miranda: Okay next up we need somebody with LEADERSHIP experience. Someone who has a long history of LEADING other people for the fire squad Something about fire...well I guess there was a lot of fire in Zaeed's mission. Man these choices are easy. Miranda: And lastly we need someone who is a BIOTIC expert. Maybe the most powerful human biotic of all time on your ship or um that Asari who's been around for 1000 years would... Aren't you a biotic? Miranda: Well in theory I-- DONE. Flawless suicide mission here we come!

That would probably be my reasoning to be fair also it's a suicide mission so they should be dying anyway.
|
# ? Dec 20, 2014 13:19 |

I also think people should have died no matter what, if only because most of the effort that went into all the different savefile permutations of Mass Effect 2/3 rely on choices that 90% of players never make.

tbqh I rarely choose Tali for the vents because her panicked voice is too real sounding. Kasumi or Legion all the way. I powered through the last bit of ME1 and have just started ME2. Everything about the gameplay is so much better, it starts out at a great tempo and just maintains that same pace throughout. No dry spells like in ME1 where you get to the Citadel for the first time and languish there for 3+ hours solving everybody's problems. The graphics and performance are a huge step up too, in ME2/3 they really squeezed as much as they could out of that Unreal 3 engine, low-res textures notwithstanding.

i'll probably buy Mass Effect Remastered as long as they give us a version of Dragon Age Keep so that I don't actually HAVE to play ME1 to make every single little choice I want to make

precision posted:i'll probably buy Mass Effect Remastered as long as they give us a version of Dragon Age Keep so that I don't actually HAVE to play ME1 to make every single little choice I want to make I console cheated my way to uber guns/armor and my hyper-gaylord completionist run of ME1 clocked in at around 21 hours. That's with surveying every mineral, completing every sidequest, and exhausting everybody's dialogue tree even when I had no reason to and stood to gain nothing from it. So if you reeeeally wanna replay ME1 and have at least a somewhat good idea of which encounters play a role in the later games, you could probably blaze through the whole thing in under 12.

I wish it was easier to skip to the good bits at the end in ME1. I rag on the game a lot, but Noveria and Ilos are really cool.

Can't you just edit a ME2 save file and select the event flags you want?

Noveria is really strange in that there are many alternate paths that most players will probably never see. For example, selling Parasini out to Anoleis, or activating the neutron purge right away, thus skipping directly to Benezia.
