Yeah, this is what I thought was the case, but I wasn't sure if my brain was misremembering, or just giving Rush way too much credit. He was always a blowhard, but he seemed knowledgeable enough and articulate enough to be able to successfully talk down to his audience. Like, you would know who was supposed to be the teacher and who was the student. But listening to him now, it's mostly just lazy projection, with extremely simple, facile arguments that make him easily interchangeable with any one of his idiot listeners.

Blinkered idiocy is not sociopathy. Especially as it's mostly limited to strangers. That's not how sociopathy works. And it's not too different from some on the left laying broad-brush hate on the South.

Dehumanizing the opposition allows some pretty loathsome behavior, but it is a natural tribal impulse.
It's the key to a lot of the right's excesses, and I do what I can to avoid it in myself.

How about that? We're just playing here, ladies and gentlemen.

Al Sharpton. There will be a movie, The Al Sharpton Story. Who do we get to play Al Sharpton? 'Cause they need two or three of 'em at various -- how about Rob Reiner to play the early Al Sharpton with the bullhorn and megaphone and all that. General Colin Powell, Colonel Colin Powell. You know there's gonna be a series of TV documentaries or movies. Who will it be? How about George C. Scott. He played Patton. I know he's dead, but what does that matter? We could reproduce him cinemagraphically.

How about, let's see, let's see, Condoleezza Rice? We do a movie on Condoleezza Rice. You might be thinking that we would have Halle Berry. No, no, no. Scarlett Johansson. Scarlett Johansson, all she's have to do is take some piano lessons, she's got it. Scarlett Johansson is Condoleezza Rice. Michael Sam. You know there's gonna a movie on Michael Sam.

...

They did it with Whitney Houston. There was a movie in 1947 called The Bishop's wife, and it was remade for Whitney Houston called The Preacher's Wife.

Every loving one of his examples is a real person, not a fictional character like Bond. Nice comparison, Rush. Because the James Bond pictures were all biopics, you fat disingenuous retard.

Cyclops actually has two eyes.

Does anyone know where I can find Michael Savage's show from last night? I caught a bit of it on my way to work and it was a window into his goddamn psyche, I swear. He was going through old family photo like flashcards and saying the most candid, revealing poo poo, like:

"My old neighborhood was full of garbage and underwear hanging out of people's windows. Like Chinatown."
"Skipping this one, Don't talk to them anymore."
"There's that dog that bit me down my shin."
"Here I am holding a cigarette in a faggy* way. I don't mean that in derogatory way." *paraphrasing these, but he straight up said "faggy" on the air
"Forget that one. That's when I started getting fat."
"My dad used to think me and my friends were gay because we wore colors."
"Should I stop? Does everyone just want me to complain about Obama?"
"There's that table where the dog bit me down my shin."
"Let me tell this story about my uncle. Well, maybe I shouldn't tell it. You know what? I'm going to tell it because maybe his kids will talk to me again if I do."
"Here I am holding a cigarette like a fag again. I think this is from the same event."
"Here I am with a big, ugly beard. Why do kids these day grow big, ugly beards?" literally - those two thoughts, one right after the other
"My uncle was a jerk. He was nice to me when I was a kid, but when I became a teenager, I was a threat. He started to pick on me. Hard worker, though."
"Should I stop? Call in and tell me if you want me to keep going. [continues anyway]"
"Here's that dog with the monster teeth."

It was glorious. I was only in the car for, like, fifteen minutes. And he still had time to bring on a couple of callers who got all of one sentence out before he hung up on them. I have to hear the rest of that show.

There's a chance he's a "Common Sense Republican" who doesn't really follow politics so he just kinda believes what Right Wing sources say being a Conservative is "Of course I'm a Conservative: I like freedom and apple pie and God too! People should work hard and respect their elders and ect. That's what they say they're for and I am too!"

And hey, he lives in an area full of assholes, all that proves is that he has family there and doesn't want to leave. Show me a specific instance of him talking about those "poor uppity negras :( " and I'll be the first to denounce him as an utter cock.

Not understanding the harm caused by conservative policies doesn't make someone intrinsically bad -- it just makes them naive at best, or stupid at worst.
