Just a heads up, my Origins account got hacked a couple days ago and they bought like $200 worth of ubisoft games. Apparently it's happening to a lot of people.

For some reason it doesn't recognize my internet speeds, so it takes upwards of a week to download stuff like Inquisition. This is a common problem according to the forums. It'll say it's downloading at 2mbs per second, but then say "5 days!" to download, so it's probably closer to 500kbs.

Their downloader is trash, and it'll just randomly crash while downloading if it doesn't feel like working anymore. If this happens you have to reset the download. Sometimes it'll update properly and you'll keep your progress. Most times it says something has gone terribly wrong, and it needs to start from the beginning again. Oh, and since it's lying out of it's rear end at the speeds it's giving you, it'll hit 90ish% several times during the download, then sneakily drop it back down to 70-80% because that's much more honest as to how much it's actually downloaded.

It has no real library view, instead making GBS threads every single box cover right up on the screen, and it only occasionally decides to follow the alphabet for placement. Lucky me for deciding I'd like a digital copy of the CnC collection/all the Origin games, now it's a painful loving mess trying to find the games I want when I want to play something through Origin. Especially since EA is super petty and if you try launching Origin games through Steam, it spazzes out and says it can't launch through external programs, please try launching through Origin.

This is on top of core problems with the service, such as it's cloud service being trash ( lost saves are a common problem ), or it just randomly deciding it needs all my system memory so it can crash my games on me.

Uplay is bad as well, but at least I can backup my saves just in case, and it just gave over download controls to Steam. There is literally no benefit to using Origin outside of "the games I want are on there". That isn't good service at all, it's just a monopoly on service.

But maybe I just have a skewed view because I just reformatted my computer after buying all the last few years worth of games on Origin, and was way to needy by wanting to download several games at once. I'm just in the wrong assuming a download service should loving be able to download more then one game at a time, at a rate greater then "in a couple days". Steam and Uplay had no problem redownloading 2-3 terrabytes worth of games in a few days, but it took Origin nearly 2 weeks to download just under a 100 gigs. That's godawful.

I can't remember how the game plays without GFs.

I do, because I remember refusing to use them for the most part since I got sick of the summoning animations.

You keep a character constantly in the Limit Break zone and just loop your menus until they get a Limit Break, because the game is broken. Whether you're having to watch GF summons again and again, go through the boring-as-hell motions of stocking 99 of each spell, or cheating the Limit Break system to give yourself looping Limit Breaks, just about every system in the game is amazingly terrible. Overleveling just makes the game harder, hilariously, since many creatures level with you and get much stronger.

Man, the gameplay in that game was terrible. It's a great thing they added cheats so you can blow through it and experience the terrible story instead! :allears:

Go back in time and force Sega to let Obsidian polish it during the time it was delayed.

I've followed the thread for a while, and that didn't come up as a regular bug that I can remember. I'd suggest basic stuff like reinstalling.

Download PhysX installer from Nvidia and reinstall it.

EDIT: Like hell do I know if it'll work, but like 90% of the time it was PhysX bugging out for completely indecipherable reasons when Alpha Protocol crashed for me.

Super Meat Boy's physics is linked to its framerate. That stuff happens if it isn't running at 60 FPS. Try a lower resolution or detail level if it's running slow. If you're getting above 60 FPS, make sure your monitor is set to 60 Hz and force vsync on in your graphics control panel.

I got Burnout in some bundle, and I don't remember having to install Origin to play it. You have to make an EA account if you want something or other, but you can skip it without it affecting the game in any noticeable way.

It ain't pretty, but it's the best mounted combat in a game ever. And it comes across a lot better in motion when you charge into a rival army of 200+ horsemen, slamming a mace into their faces.

Eh, I just uninstalled the game. Everything feels too slippery, and while I don't consider myself bad at platformers I don't think I can get any better at this one in particular. I preferred the platforming in They Bleed Pixels - there was inertia but it still felt like your character had weight to them.

Yeah it's a definite gameplay over graphics experience. It doesn't look pretty but the simulation/physics used for battles are excellent.

Obviously it's not the graphics, but the gameplay :) It's a very immersive RPG with a skill-based and fun combat system that's utilized in absolutely huge battles in different cool environments. It's got your RPG stats, player customization, armors, clothes, tonnes of weapons of different kinds, a somewhat immersive trading system, allegiance building... It's one of those RPGs you end up playing way to much since there's always something to do.

It's also really cool that, depending on your difficulty settings, your player character starts out really weak. You have to recruit soldiers and order them through your battles, since any experienced warrior will smash your head in if they get too close. As you progress your army grows larger and larger, and you can siege castles and cities with the help of your allies. Or, you could adjust the difficulty sliders to become a literal one-man army pillaging and murdering anything in your path :supaburn:

It's not. I've been using it for a very long time because I like Origin and think it's fine and unobtrusive, but I also think that Steam games that just launch Origin are pointless and dumb. All it really does is patch the .par files that Origin installs along with the game so that Origin does not need to be open for them to run.
