They changed hosts recently for the launcher files and older versions try to get their files from the old host and fail.

I used the tekkit launcher to download the tekkit pack, it launched once, crashed and said i ran out of memory. It also said i had 32bit java, so I got 64 bit and now it wont launch at all. I've tried re installing and I uninstalled 32 bit java to see if that was an issue, what do I do? I have 64 bit windows 8.1

This was done several days ago when the modpack list was definitely changed since then. Can't find the button anymore so it might have been an element out of place? Either way can't find that prompt anymore.

It was made on the basis that if you try anything at all it will work, but I guess people are just confused enough that they don't try anything?

If the changelog was displayed there too that would be great. Right here:

I had assumed that the instability effects meant I had done something wrong. If the recipe calls for fewer recipes than you have pedestals, does it matter which oens you put them on? What order you place them in? AS for the instability, ow about more candles? Or, got any tips for making/getting mob heads? Ariong fucked around with this message at 07:04 on Dec 29, 2014 |

It may have changed, but I am pretty sure that while the order in which you place stuff doesn't matter, the way you put it on the pedestals does. Try to keep things more or less symmetrical to keep the altar from getting angry and knocking poo poo on the floor.

Try to keep things more or less symmetrical to keep the altar from getting angry and knocking poo poo on the floor. symmetry is key for increased stability 2) if you have tinker's construct installed, the cleaver has +drop for mob heads. also, candles would work as well if you can't get heads, as will crystal clusters

Yes - instability is increased by an asymmetrical arrangement of pedestals and/or items. Each pedestal adds 2 instability, then checks for a pedestal in the opposite position - if it finds one, it subtracts 2. Items on a pedestal add 1, then subtract 1 if there is an item present. Crystal clusters, nitor, candles, nodes, and glimmers of light all count as accessories - they add .1 instability, and then if there is another item off the list in the opposite position, they subtract .2. The altar checks in a -12/+12 radius in x and z, -10/+5 in y. So there's a lot of room to stick blocks under the altar. Mob heads are recommended because you can stick them on a block and then mine that block out, allowing you to pack them more densely than most options. The order you place items on the pedestals does not matter - you can even temporarily take things off the pedestals during infusion if you don't mind eating some instability/extra essentia cost in exchange for not losing something expensive. If your pack has tinker's construct, make a Cleaver and upgrade it with obsidian and ender pearls to greatly increase the drop rate of heads. You could even stick it in an autonomous activator and leave it near a spawner to stab mobs for you.

If it started then the ingredients were correct to start with. If it didn't finish, you either didn't give it enough essentia, or one of the items got knocked off by an instability effect.

I had two questions: Does EZNuke work with Computercraft in 1.7.10? A friend's server is on Resonant Rise, and it looks like I am about to setup socialist power. I could use some automation to moderate it before I get sustainable yellorium. Second, how can I most easily set up a large ME3 spatial dimension? Is there a way to just enter a spatial drive without setting up pylons? Regardless, what is the minimum I need to beam up a huge chunk of the map? I kind of want to try it, and previously I only ever did the basic spatial storage to get spawners.

It's supposed to set the furthest monitor away as some sort of master display but that wasn't working for me.

I figured out why my game doesnt work, apparently forge or something doesnt work with Java 8, I need to use Java 7 64 bit. And by not launching when I said that, I would click play, the launcher would minimise and then come back 2s later. I figured it out by enabling the console and seeing that it had an issue which said (option removed in 8), googled that, and found out the 8 there meant java 8 What I am looking for though is something with lots of industrial stuff without gregtech, when I used to play this I played the mindcrack pack of ftb which had thermal expansion, redpower, industrial craft, build craft and a heap of stuff, thats just what I remember the name of. underage at the vape shop fucked around with this message at 02:30 on Dec 30, 2014 |

This is why some programs "require" specific versions of Java, even though to date, nothing has ever been removed or changed significantly in the Java specifications. I don't know which ones specifically have been removed, other than -XX:PermSize and -XX:MaxPermSize, which should just give a warning that says they're ignored.

For those who are playing the new ME^4 modpack on FTB, there's a few things you need to know SPOILERS! There's two chests in the starting area that I found, one is behind and on top of the bedrock cage, the second is UNDER the platform, you will have to use the water to get down and back up. There may be more chests or containers in the starting area that I missed. There are FAKE BLOCKS in some places that look like regular blocks from a distance, but once you get close to them you can see they are actually inventory blocks, there's two of them in the IO room. Also, would this modpack something you would like to see a screenshot LP of?

It's not really spoilers considering that you need to open one to complete the very first quest. All of the trophies you need to complete the victory monument are inside of them. There are also goodies inside, so you'll want to keep an eye out even if you're not interested in that. They look like the block they're disguised as on all sides but one, so keep an eye out for bumpy blocks with red and green lights. quote:Also, would this modpack something you would like to see a screenshot LP of? So is there some sort of fix for a white screen freeze when I load a saved world? So far I've deleted and reinstalled java, upped the amount of RAM minecraft gets, and made a new world before trying to load the old one. I'm using Ultra Modded Survival 2 and this started after it patched, if it makes a difference.

White screen freeze sounds like Windows thinking it crashed, while it's really just loading. Beside that, try opening the world in mcedit to see if it's actually there. Check the forge logs and see what step it crashes at, usually the last entry above (paraphrasing) "sending event server stopped" to every mod.

UMS2 sometimes tries to eat more than 3GB of memory and it does that whenever it's trying to use too much. It'll sometimes push my computers memory to 98% which of course causes all sorts of issues. It's a neat pack but it ravages memory.

A tip if anyone wants to play Gregtech (which I tried and actually recommend) - combine it with Mekanism. The OP level of Mek balances out (a little) some of the poo poo in Gregtech, especially if you leave the Mek oregen on, as you need all of that tin and bronze to get started. Plus - magically - Osmium is a super rare awesome metal in Gregtech and having it spawn all over is awesome. Might want to turn off the blast furnace requirements for steel though, as Mekanism needs so much of it.
