Goosed it. posted:Hey all, A. Do not use a font. Find an artist that does good lettering instead. It will look a hell of a lot better. B. We just had a discussion about this in the normal tattoo thread and always tend to steer people away from plain text tattoos. It pretty much always looks better to get some sort of imagery with the text and then have the text on a banner or something. Come by the thread in YLLS and people can make suggestions on artists and content.

Goosed it. posted:Although the tattoo might be cheesy we don't want the execution to be. Do any of you have links to fonts that might last for better or for worse? Papyrus is a timeless classic, but ultimately worthless due to its legibility. You want your script tattoos to be so confusingly designed that five different people will generate ten different ideas of what it could possibly say. Grind Mafia is somewhat hard to read, and you could probably get your artist to throw in some additional lines to really ruggedize it and make it weathered, you know? I hope this post has been helpful, Goosed.it, and that you and your significant other don't ever have any cause to regret having each other's names tattooed into your respective flesh.

I think we're leaning towards mixing together some fonts. Specifically, we want to do half the letters in comic sans and the other half in papyrus. We actually hadn't considered incorporating each other's names, but that is definitely some food for thought. I think adding an image is also a good idea. Maybe something like this:

This is one of those things that works scratched into the side of a zippo carried in the pocket of a soldier in Nam, but no so much on a squishy, basement-dwelling bear-man. Which brings me to an obvious question: why do hairy-rear end people get tattoos in spots where they have to shave to have the work done? It seems a lot like paying an artist to paint a fresco on the subfloor beneath your carpet.

Going back to the previous page - It's really sad that guy is stealing photos from other shops while claiming to help trafficking victims and Gang members. That is a really serious thing that prevents many people who wish to from turning their lives around and there are many shops and charities who work on the issue and sponsor people or donate time to help cover up and remove such tattoos. Dude deserves a punch in the face. E: and yeah, barcodes are commonly used. Doesn't mean everyone with some lovely tattoo from 1994 was trafficked but it is a thing. http://www.theguardian.com/global-development/2014/nov/16/sp-the-tattooed-trafficking-survivors-reclaiming-their-past MAKE NO BABBYS has a new favorite as of 05:33 on Jan 4, 2015 |

Most barcode tattoos I've seen have been more in the vein of dystopian cyberpunkish nihilism or maybe I've just known more sex-trafficking victims than I realized.

Googled cyberpunk tattoos, found mostly circuitry and machinery-based designs, some of them pretty good. And of course, this design on at least three different girls.

You want a diagnosis you go to a doctor, not a tattooist. Also, EMT's are told to ignore any tattoos indicating medical conditions, they only look for them bracelet things for diabetics or other conditions.
