I could never beat the spaceship boss in Rocket Knight Adventures when I was a kid. I had no idea that it just kept going and going like an intense boss rush mode! Blechy has really nailed the commentary for World of Illusion and Sparkster. He's really knowledgable and well prepared, it's great.

what if there was an alternate universe where rocket knight became popular instead of sonic. they both involve weird animal people so the same void would be filled in the early videogame timeline and there'd be a million recolors of sparkster today.

Was the stream this glitchly last year? poo poo's either chugging randomly, dropping out when ads change, or just going down in the middle of runs. Also, is the TASbot coming back? I want to see some poor smuck try to play through SMB1 in SMW.

I've always been a little sad that Hard Corps: Uprising never shows up at any of these. It's a fantastic game (and the best Contra), and it'd be amazing for speedruns, but I'm pretty sure virtually no one runs it or even knows it exists.

Out of nowhere, but I really wish they'd turn a mic on the crowd or something between games. The totally silent setups are starting to get to me, it makes the event feel really dead and sterile, which is not at all what I've come to expect from a *GDQ. It's odd. In the meantime, hell yes, Breakdown.

Ristar looks so drat good. Those character animations! Sometimes I am sad that Ristar did not become the same kind of breakout mascot character that Sonic did. Then I look at what Sonic has become and I feel okay there's only the one Ristar game.
