Oh I got the keys but promptly forgot about them. Something for Pain mode I guess.

e: I bought the art and soundtrack, the character bios have info than is in the game.

It also includes a big ridiculous png with all or at least most of the sprites in the game. More than a few things on there that I don't believe I ever saw, like this

Does anything special happen if you skip the W2D building by the first karate dojo?

Also pain mode questions: Anyone know if there's anything pain mode exclusive for losing your arms or going joyless? Otherwise I might just keep my arms and use Joy because I did Selfless/Joyless the first time I played.

Yeah, check out Geese's bio.

Also it's interesting to note that there's a bunch of sprites of a random one off joke guy you fight near the start, Jeffery Coomings. Apparently he was once the protagonist, then a main character, an optional NPC and finally, well... A one off joke. :v:

e: I didn't think he did a great job uh, conveying how evidently horrible Brad was to Buddy, since almost everything we see in the intro is fairly pleasant. She just hits you with it at the end of the game and you're kind of left to go "oh I guess you were a real shitbag off-camera Brad."

Well, you do see Brad struggle with alcohol and joy abuse during the intro and some problems obviously came from that. That said, I don't think you're supposed to view Brad as actually being horrible to Buddy. He genuinely was trying his best to raise her, but he wanted to keep her locked up for her own safety. Naturally, Buddy came to resent that. You'd probably feel the same way about being locked in a cave for most of your time, no matter how nice your captor is. So Buddy begins to view Brad as more of a tormentor than protector, and she probably gets a lot of bad ideas from Brad's friends to reinforce this view.

Also I had no idea the soundtrack included character art. I read some and now I'm sad again. Turns out the horrible drunk I ignored because he annoyed me had a reason to be horribly drunk :smith:

I'm kind of surprised how bad the game managed to make me feel for Rando with so little said about his actual background. You only learn a little but that's enough to form a lot of ideas about the kind of life he lived.

Rando's biography is extremely short, extremely :smith: huh?

The art collection is a nice bonus but the main thing is the 90-song soundtrack at better quality, including remixes.

So I bought the Soundtrack/Art collection because Dingaling owns and deserves money. But how do I actually download it? :shobon:

The game should have "patched" after you bought it, they'll be inside the game's Steam folder. I think steamapps\common\lisa?

If you didn't already install it on checkout, rightclick LISA in games library and click View Downloadable Content to download it. Then they will be in your \Steam\SteamApps\common\LISA directory.

Who the hell are the Joy people who keep loving with me?

Also, I feel like I somehow missed a lot of stuff in Area 2, I saw a couple fish people but I didn't hang out with them or anything.

The one who's loving with you is the leader, Buzzo, who is also one of the researchers that developed the Joy drug (you find this out if you get the Joyless ending). The rest are just Joy addicts that follow his orders. He seems to know Lisa and hates Brad for failing to protect her, which is why he's spending his time ruining Brad's life.

The fishman area is in the swamp. You want to drop down into a pool of water a single tile wide (there's also a piece of grass on either side of it).

If you're going to do another playthrough I'd suggest doing it in Pain Mode, since you can access the Joy lab in the experimental village, and you get a special ending.

Playing on pain mode seems to prevent you from earning the joyful achievement, maybe the joyless one too.

Pain ending am I supposed to know who Dusty's dad is? Or was he referring to Brad? My first thought was actually Buzzo, blonde hair and all, but then if Buzzo is that old you'd have to wonder what his connection to Lisa was.

Can't be Buzzo, because he's a kid in Brad's karate class the flashback where Dusty first joined Brad's class, the first one. If you talk to him Brad asks him if he's okay because he's been looking upset.

I got this too the other day, didn't go away after a reboot. I deleted Lisa and reinstalled last night, but I haven't had a chance to try playing it again. I hope my save wasn't deleted. :ohdear:

How long is a typical playthrough? I was only an hour in, anyway, had just met the orphanage guy and am exploring the first section of caves. Does Brad's withdrawal ever stop? I was going at a good clip, and then he just became completely useless at combat, and if it wasn't for the luchadore I recruited, I would wipe on every enemy. It is kinda frustrating having the main character get randomly (and thoroughly) gimped.

Withdrawal doesn't permenantly go away, ever. You can get rid of it via rest, using Joy, or time. When Brad is in withdrawal, you can use his Fireball attacks (when you get them which isn't too far in)as they're based off of s. attack and not attack, and s. attack isn't affected by Joy.

The first time I played the game took a few hours.

Using Birdie to oil folks up thn Brad's fireball and the hobo's bag flame attack. Really powerful stuff.

Add in Mad Dog's fireball and three of your teammates will absolutely wreck your opponent.

That's why Terry is the best character to use against mutants. His skill that causes crying and Pissed makes sure they can't use the permanent kill attacks, as well as having the chance of doing heavy damage to themselves.

Yeah every large mutant other than Punkert can use the bite your head off attack.
