You guys with your moose and caribou shots are making me jealous. I was looking at birds that all vanished when I picked up my telephoto. But there were some bees flying around. Would've been sharper if I'd taken off my 2x extender, but I was still pleasantly surprised. bee by Jason the Hutt, on Flickr

Great shot! But, uh, bears at 200mm? Isn't that a range where you start to worry about getting mauled?

Yeah I watched something the other day; turns out their running speed isn't theoretical. Grizzlies actively chase and kill elk, was some scary poo poo to watch.

A lovely 70-300 is better than no 70-300. If you didn't say anything I would have never guessed what lens that was taken with.

Wow, you guys are just amazing. Also makes me really want a telephoto. I went on a trip to the Galapagos 9 months ago and just started going through all the pictures. I guess it took a long time for the trip to settle in my mind or something. Going through all of them just after the trip was too daunting. I find it a little worrying that a deer is able to get that close to a building. Do they go through your trash and stuff? Disclaimer: never seen a deer.
