The reason for playing on arcade sticks is that there tends to be joystick motions/inputs that run similar to fighting games. IE, you might see a spot where you want to put a piece, and realize that you need to do a fireball motion to get it to the spot where it goes. Someone who actually plays might be able to explain it better.
