The problem with Sheik is that no one except Diddy has a really favorable matchup against her. Some people have decent matchups (ZSS, Link, Yoshi... well maybe not Yoshi, and Ness, basically the top tiers are dictated by who is alright against Sheik and Diddy currently) but Sheik is essentially great because she trumps more than half the cast. It was the same in Melee.

People even say that the Sheik/Sheik ditto matchup isn't even in Sheik's favor, since Sheik benefits greatly from her own fallspeed and weight, to the point where tilt combos are even easier than normal.

Edit: Oh, I forgot Lucario actually has a favorable matchup against Sheik due to his aura making him just able to attrition her out.

I do, and he complains a lot. Then again he's probably just dumb. But either way they nerfed it because you could influence where you'd go for an easy suicide kill, much more easily than other characters.

As for fighting offstage, while he doesn't have too much flexibility, what he has is simply godlike. Especially that semispike you can do with your up-air.

Whoever has lower % influences the direction of the slam, if they're equal then it's averaged out between the two inputs I believe. Pretty sure that's still true even after the patch.

Yeah, I hate fighting Lucario because, as awesome as Sheik is, she can't kill until a high percent (compared to other top characters) so you are guaranteed to have to deal with a Lucario who has a ton of aura and rage.

Teach you what?

Aside from perfect pivoting, the latest advanced tech I'm aware of is edge sliding. I can teach you jump cancelled grabs, if that's what you meant?

Sure
E: also some characters have a thing where if you hit the control stick, then hit shield and then A, they'll do a grab with longer range

A jump cancel is when you input a jump and then some other action within the amount of frames it takes for your character to leave the ground. Those are called jumpsquat frames. The amount of frames differ between every character: Lucario has 5, Little Mac has 6, Robin has 8 (which is considered really bad and slow), etc.

One example is you can dash forward, and then jump, and then input a grab within your character's jumpsquat frames, then you'll do a standing grab rather than a dash grab. This is good for characters with really bad dash grabs - Donkey Kong, Zero Suit Samus, etc.

What makes this particularly powerful is that you can cancel shield with a jump. So if your shield is being pressured and you know you're getting an opening soon, you can cancel your shield with a jump, which you cancel with an attack. You can get out a smash attack without having to drop your shield or turn around or whatever.

~135 games later of For Glory, and I still can't wrangle Mega Man into anything useful(~51% total winrate). He feels like a zoning character that can't actually zone aside from getting surprise gimp kills. He can play deep off the side thanks to his vertical recovery, but there are a huge number of things that can go wrong there(and don't play deep if you can't walljump). I feel like every time I make an attack as Mega Man I will get 30% dealt to me in return for my 2-3% to the enemy. Combos seem nonexistent for him. His downthrow leads to nothing, his upthrow doesn't get him much either. His backthrow can kill but at absurd percentages(~140-150?). Bair is good but it's predictable as hell. With the sheer number of reflecting moves in the game, his fsmash is a huge gamble that the odds are quite frankly against you in using. My only strong performances are to play SO LAME that it's embarassing. Literally pellets(jump the third), sawblade, run away. Repeat ad infinitum or until desired effect is achieved. Is there anyone having actual success with Mega Man, and if so, HOW?

I've only played 2 Mega Man players in For Glory and they were both absolutely untouchable. I dunno what specific tactics I can recommend that they used though. Certainly they loved his dash attack, the Top Spin lasts for ages. Generally there'd be an unending wall of projectiles in the form of the buster, the Metal Blade, the Crash Bomb etc. Also if I was above them in the air they would spam the poo poo out of the tornados. Also are you using his tilts? The uppercut is a solid kill move, the slide is decent for mixing things up.

Admittedly I was using Captain Falcon who seems dreadful for dealing with Mega, like you said any kind of counter or reflect would deal with a lot of his attacks
