I am absolutely blown away by the GT350R. It's getting really hard to ignore how amazing American performance cars have become. The GT350 grabbed my attention and the GT350R actually has me thinking seriously about buying a drat Mustang. Up until now I've planned on the 997 GT3 or a 991 C2S for next year. Now I'm wondering why I want to pay more for slower cars.

Double DIN stereo? Pretty nice. I think the 3.5l is the engine that can run either on Atkinson or Otto cycle as the situation demands, I think it's the one used in the GS450h? I doubt they are going to give up anything to the GM engine.

No specs yet but it should be comparable on power and chances are it'll be more reliable. The rest of the truck sure as poo poo will be as well, regardless of how nice the GM twins look on paper they're still cheaply designed and built GM products and aside from some earlier issues with the frame supplier not rustproofing them the Tacomas are about as durable as it gets. I've had a Colorado before, never again. New interior on the Tacoma is nice as well, and they'll still offer it with the six-speed manual which is cool.

gently caress gently caress gently caress gently caress. I JUST bought an ST two years ago and it already looks rather dated compared to the new one. Goddamnit I want to see what the RS looks like, as well as it's specs. edit: Actually I take it back, that angle is EXTREMELY flattering to the new ST. The angle makes it seem MUCH lower than it really is. The front grill in reality is about waist high it looks like. Also the yellow is not flattering to the new model at all Wicaeed fucked around with this message at 10:39 on Jan 13, 2015 |

Those flying buttresses and all are probably functional and that's great, but the new GT isn't as good looking as the last one. That said, it's still quite a good looking car and I hope it wins races and isn't marked up to gently caress by car dealers so they actually sell the proper number and I get to see more of them on the road.

That new grille is terrible. The rear badging is probably pretty decent looking body colored. Even though Ram has the powerwagon, showing that thing off while Ford has the new Raptor is a pretty big disappointment. Ford is really bringing it this year.

Ford's been bringing it for awhile now. Do they even make a turd? I mean, the Fiesta and Focus and Fusion are all top-notch consumer vehicles, and their SUVs and crossovers all seem to be popular as hell. I'm starting to get concerned about the other carmakers. The Taurus is kind of a turd. It's horribly out of date and has a cramped interior for how big it is. Honestly, outside of the SHO I really don't see why you'd buy one over the Fusion. That and it's MKS twin are probably the weakest links in Ford's portfolio.

In defence of the Taurus I just don't think any manufacturer gives a poo poo about full sized, economy, vehicles anymore. The class isn't very competitive and rightfully so because no one buys them. If you really need more space than a fusion you're probably going to make the jump to an explorer or flex. The only people buying fullsized are people who are shopping german or high end japanese.

I was actually going to mention that but got distracted. It dates back to '09 but I genuinely thought it was even older. That being said, my dad has a '13 SHO and the level of technology in it is incredible. He bought it over similarly-priced BMWs and Mercedes and he loves it. It's gigantic and looks like it can't handle for poo poo, and yeah it's getting long in the tooth. I'd say Chrysler has them for full-size car, even though the 300 isn't as cool as it used to be, but I'm not sure. Maybe it's a dying segment.

It is a dying segment for sure. Unfortunately the main car I buy, bought one every 5 years for the past 20 years, along with ute's/small trucks. So I guess I'm switching to euro wagons like the ford mondeo or skoda octavia or something, because gently caress SUVs. e: No, I'll probably become the people I loathe, have dual cab ranger truck as the sole vehicle. So I still have load/tow capacity for work, and have kids in the back and make use of it as an oversized shopping trolley on the weekends because there's no economy full size cars with a decent tow capacity. (Medium and small cars don't work so well down here as towing laws seem more strict than Europe) Fo3 fucked around with this message at 16:21 on Jan 13, 2015 |
