I really like what you've got here; I especially like how realistic that highway circular looks. Kazinsal's is really nice too! All those trees are being used to great effect. I'm early into a new region that I'm trying to build up gradually from farming to urban, and I've largely abandoned efforts to make my farms look nice. Just slap them down like big American megafarms, good enough for me. I do wish it was possible to have farms that are automatically surrounded by fences/hedges/trees and so forth, because when you're filling a lot of space with them it becomes pretty drat time consuming to make each one look nice.

Thanks for the comments everyone benzine posted:Kazinsal, being a super sperg, there is monorail station unconnected. That screenshot makes me want to play SC4 right now. Ugh, I know. I was in the middle of building the whole monorail system when I decided "hey I wonder if I could do a high detail mosaic of this entire sector of the map" and, well, got this. The system also isn't connected to the southeast tile, though it crosses the border into it.

Other than all the goon packs, is there a relatively small (like, 500mb Max) level 9-15 CAMelot pack that is universally popular and recommended? I figured out why my cities are stalling at around 225k residents: since I'm using straight vanilla growables all of the buildings are at level 8 and there's nowhere left for them to go Also trip report for the Aspyr Mac release: I used a Java based datpacker called JDatPack or something like that on the everything else folder of the OF3.0 and while it actually loaded the region, there were still far too many files and I get beach balling when I load a city up which requires a force quit.

Your city shouldn't be stalling though despite not having CAM. CAM just adds more growth stages in to have a better blend of buildings going from 1 story to sky scraper. There's probably something else stopping your cities population from increasing. Education/Health not high enough for sims wanting HT industry, no airport, poor transport (long commute), no link to sim nation. Even some of the rewards push over the barrier like the stock exchange or convention centre. As for education, remember you need elementary (kids), high school (teenagers), college (young adults), and libraries/museums (stops education eroding with museums being better). Coverage also matters. Whenever you place a education or health building, its effects take awhile to kick in so if you drop a high school on an area that was out of coverage and showing red on the education overlay, it really isn't going to fully yield its effects till the next generation which is typically about 50 years. So sometimes when you reach a hump and not sure why, have a look at all your coverage and fix it and run it for 50 years. Big buildings and HT are also based on how much you have of that particular zone in your region. If anything, CAM makes it a longer wait to get the big buildings. http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=1987.0 Cam growth stages. Vanilla stops at 8. Remember to look further down at the fire/park one also. JDatPack is what I used to pack all these files. MAC sucks

I just want some Russian website to say "gently caress you" and megapack all SC4devotion files, intentionally erase the names of the authors and replace them all with random cyrillic characters and spam posts with the link to the megapack on that stupid forum of theirs. I don't think I'll ever actually play this game again because the existing megapacks aren't quite what I want and it takes like a day to get all the files sorted before I can even begin making my perfect Polish city or whatever. gently caress those stupid nerds.

I'm in the process of downloading the starter pack CAMeLOTs from the CAM wiki as well as placing about 40 parks around town and so far both cities have gone from ~221k to ~300k

Downloaded the Old Fasioned Pack and it's causing the game to crash whenever I load into a map from region view. I deleted the terrainmods folder cause I am running in software rendering mode. What might the problem be?? I just plopped everything in my Plugins folder.

Are you a mac user? Probably going to need to add to the OP that OF 3.0 and my pack are too large for MAC users and someone's going to need to man up and make a mid pack lite for the third world

I'll begin to compile mods that work with Aspyrs OSX release of SC4. The trick will be the CAMeLOTs but it'll be worth it in the end. edit: I may just end up buying SC4 on Steam since it seems that it has significantly fewer issues than Aspyr's version, which would make it able to use the OF and Tai's pack (at least, I believe so). Also, total bummer than I missed the sale on it Until it goes on sale again, I'll compile what I can for the Aspyr release users since that's what I'll be using too. Edit 2: I read some conflicting things about the Steam vs Aspyr so I guess they may both have the too many file bug. We shall see. I'm having trouble with RHW but all the tutorials on the web are out of date.

You can put downloads in whatever folders you want to, to keep things organized. The only exceptions are things that install to folders with names that starts with something along the lines of "Z__", those things have those names because they need to load last (at the very least I know NAM does this).
