Eh, I mostly wanted to keep CA drama off the first page or so. Talking about CA stuff should be okay now that we're settled in, as long as we only talk about people who volunteer info like you and don't do creepy internet detective work. E: Lupa, the midroll discussion had me wondering. Is it hard to know exactly where Blip will insert midrolls? I remember that, at least on some of your videos, the ads had a weird habit of interrupting you mid-sentence sometimes. That was really the only complaint I had about your midrolls (though I didn't email Channel Awesome about it or anything dumb like that). Blip gives you a general area to put midrolls on, but no matter where you pause it, it'll round it to the nearest second. So, that's why sentences get cut off sometimes. Although, if you skip to the ads and watch them, you can go back to the beginning and watch the rest of the video without the ad interrupting again. EDIT: And yes, I have been told CA was planning on starting a Patreon. I'm sure they'll make bank and become even lazier.

Does anyone else have a hard time watching videos on phelous.com on mobile devices? When I try to watch videos on my iPad the sidebar covers up part of the right part of the video player and makes it so I can't fullscreen the video.

Well, I think that comes from one producer actually asking for people to basically pay his rent for him, which did rub a lot of people wrong. Problem is of course, Patreon is nothing like that. It is basically like any other free web service that has paid premium membership that gives you some bonus (you know, like the tgwtg membership). It also isn't emotionally manipulative. So really, it doesn't really compare at all.

The sidebar *should* hide with iPad's screen resolution. I think it's the double-pixel-density thing on the newer displays throwing that off. I'll adjust the layout this weekend to compensate. Thanks for the bug report.

Obscurus Lupa returns to Cheapskate Live! This time we’re watching the pilot to the action series that’s inspired by, and sillier than, Baywatch. It’s Acapulco H.E.A.T.!

Lupa released a new Baywatching -- "Nightmare Bay"! New season! New characters! Also old characters! Also old actors playing new characters! Also, sea monsters might be killing people? The resolution to this mystery is clawful.

What Mokinokaro said, but also I did a Manic Episodes a loooong time ago on a Baywatch Nights ep if you'd care to see it: http://blip.tv/OLPresents/me-baywatch-nights-the-eighth-seal-4990024 It's the ep where Mitch is possessed by a demon! Keep in mind I hadn't even seen Baywatch proper at that point, and the technical quality isn't the best. I'll go over the ep again in Baywatching when it comes to it, but that'll be a long time coming. Rebochan posted:So... two things... 1. I honestly don't remember where Eddie's living; he might've moved in with Shauni. It'd make sense since they're engaged now, but I suppose I'll remember whenever it comes to it. 2. So the whole thing with the "sea monster" victim staying at Mitch's house was all some convoluted thing where he asked her to stay to keep her from talking to that nosy reporter. Mitch wakes up in the middle of the night to her crying, and tries to comfort her next to the fireplace. He mentions when Hobie has trouble sleeping he rubs his back (???) and she asks him to rub her back. He does, and things turn sexy. Then he breaks it off and says it's gotta end there. 'Cause he's a nice guy. A nice, creepy guy. I had to cut out a lot since Nightmare Bay was a two-parter and it would've gone on forever.

It's strange looking at Baywatch from the perspective of someone in 2015. It seems like it was such a big deal in its day, but now it's a relic of the 1990s. There's some series that, their quality or lack thereof notwithstanding, achieve a certain degree of timelessness even when they're products of their time (sticking to the 1990s, I'd put forward The X-Files, Seinfeld, possibly Friends, and even camp-fests like Xena: Warrior Princess), and then there's stuff that made an impact in its day and was a big deal at the time but doesn't seem to retain the same recognition or influence. Sticking to the 1990s, you look at the series that were consistently nominated for all the big television awards, or had a fairly long run on the small screen. LA Law (which, if Wikipedia is any indication, seemed to dominate the Best Drama Series categories after Hill Street Blues wrapped up), thirtysomething, Picket Fences, NYPD Blue (12 seasons, and I'm pretty sure Dennis Franz must have at least as many awards for playing Sipowicz as James Gandolfini and Bryan Cranston won for The Sopranos and Breaking Bad), possibly Homicide: Life On the Street, Chicago Hope, even ER (15 seasons). Perhaps my reference pool is too small, but they just don't seem to have the same profile to me despite the impact they made. It's like dropping a stone into a paddling pool; it might make a splash, but if it doesn't spill over the sides and get everywhere, people are less likely to remember it.
