Rollercoaster of winning streaks and loses with Lynette and goonsquad tonight. The Jaburo power hour sure was something. Every match we lost there, Zeon tried to pull of a base attack repeatedly without results, the one win was when people got together and focused on defense and K:D ratio. ...Also Gelgoog HMT as combat custom is the best space base attacker.

What are the choices for Zeon when it comes to having something that can spew out missiles reliably? I am admittedly pretty bad at the whole 'fly around near each other and bazooka/FA weapon fire spam' thing, and the only way I've gotten kills reliably as an Assault or Heavy was using missiles (Except when using the Hildolfr in tunnel maps). Currently the main cheap missile suits I use consistently are the Marine Zaku and Z'Gok (though they only get used in maps with water). I've tried using the Zaku II F Type variant that has the missle pod legs, but it felt like those acted more like a secondary weapon than a primary weapon. I'm aware that the Gundam Prototype 2 has some nasty missile packs - in fact, the one I managed to pull out actively uses those instead of the Beam Bazookas despite having Rocket Shooter for its passive. Other than the marine-types I mentioned though that's all I really have at this time on missile suits. (Note: As much as I want one because of how silly it looks, I don't really consider the Oggo a 'main' suit to use for just missles unless I can somehow get my hands on four of them to spam them in space maps)

For guided missiles we really don't have much of a choice http://gow.swiki.jp/index.php?%E6%A...%83%AB%E7%B3%BB You are looking at an aquatic suit of some sort if you want missile shooter unless you want the ifrit breaks silver or GP02.

Gelgoog cannon doesn't get missile shooter trait but is a very reliable ranged fire suit. Run beam cannon F(Insta-switch weapon, knocks down anyone if you catch them in the air), the hand missiles(Another insta-switch weapon), and beam rifle b3. As long you stick to shootouts and stay out of melee/shotgun range you'll have a good time in this suit.

We may have lost, but as someone who is nowhere near as skilled as the rest of the clan and usually placing 30-ish, this was amazing: The Dom Tropen with f-bazooka and d-type melee is a beast, I kept watching feddies hide behind corners in melee suits, at which point i'd shoot the ground/wall near them until they died. The Gouf Custom also hasn't let me down yet again, though it's only rental. Once I get a master mechanic ticket i'll be making a (hopefully) much better one.

OrangeSoda posted:Are any of the EX suits any good? I heard the Dom wasn't, but what about the two zakus? tl;dr If you're looking for a grunt II F is the better value of the two EX suits, though you may be better served with a Zaku Marine(Roll missile trait if you plan to use it in open spaces, rocket shooter for closed spaces) instead. Zaku Marine is more line warfare / defense oriented. 300 Kinbareid IIF2 is worth exactly its cost, nothing more nothing less. It's there if you want a harassment oriented ranged assault, with stats to match. Packs sturms, MMP80 full auto, and standard Zaku arms like Magella cannon, leg missile pods, and bazookas. No shotgun though. Not a close range oriented assault (Dom Tropen or D sword Nacht fills that niche much better for the same cost). Heat hawk moveset is the same as Zaku I, do not bother since it can't get combat custom. Sturms are for when the enemy gets close/bunched up. Maybe use it on maps with open spaces where the Dom Tropen has trouble closing the gap (Or too many enemies in high places, etc). Sounds like you're good on the 300+ cost department already though. 220 IIF is pretty good value if you are good with bazookas and the magella cannon. Replace the bazooka with missile pods for open spaces though. The appeal is a variety of weapon options on a fairly short CT(70 seconds if no mods, not that much more if you do add mods). Same weapons as IIF2 except no sturms/MMP80, it gets access to shotguns instead though, which is nice if they get into your personal space. Doesn't really have the top speed (1177) or boost capacity to benefit strongly from combat custom and the heat hawk options though. Disposable style assault that is capable at mid to close range. Most effective builds run 2-3 of the following: missile legs, shotgun, bazookas, and of course the magella cannon. It has tough competition though, for the same 220 cost you can get a Zaku marine heavy which has very damaging ranged weapons in the form of the torpedo launcher and heavy enhanced bazooka F. The 3pt 120mm and vulcans are pretty good on the marine too. Also near 2k armour before upgrades, so it's tough to kill in shoot outs as long as you don't eat a rocket/melee. Also it get shotguns so it has an effective weapon for any range really.

That is pretty good except it is also the wrong way to fix pixie flying. If I remember right, the area you have to be in to defend the base isn't very large. Nor does that amount of points make it worth it.

Third World Reggin posted:That is pretty good except it is also the wrong way to fix pixie flying. Yeah, they should take out the air mobility from the 2nd A3 beam dagger attack and D3 cold blade already. Also about defense, it's about the size of the anti-arty circle around the base except it goes a little further out than that. Defense pays pretty well, especially if you maintain a kill streak. The current Old new york in rotation is a good example of how you can make lots off points of it, I can lose a game and make at least 400 points just assisting/killing gundams that get near or shoot up the middle forward base. Don't even have to hit a base at all. That's +5 in addition for every assist/kill on top of extra +3 ticks for being present every time the base is hit by a different attacker. It stacks up quickly. If your team is getting stomped, I'd say defense is the best way to make points.

Yeah. Naturally preemptive defense supported by camera/radar is the best policy. Built 2 combat custom Stealth/DIII Nachts and have been winning a lot more for it, our platoon's win rate tonight was crazy. Turns out Feds are pretty free vs flying rat suits too. I ran the same routes as the Fred Pixie with Heights and they can't deal with it. We get in most of the time and mess up the base while making lots of score.

New DX suits are out here is the video Side featured suits in this DX volume are gold Act Mallet, Z'gok, and Gouf Custom. Gelgoog MJ is basically an act zaku sidegrade, slightly better in close quarters than the heavy act but worse in the medium range. Gold gets access to wrist beams, slightly better quality than the sniper version. Gelgoog Marine is 280 cost, has excellent boost capacity (1320 before upgrades, 1517 when maxed which is up there with suits like Alex/Kampfer) and the arm gatling is almost the quality of the alex gatling. Only 20 damage less per bullet. Gold gets access to standard quality bazookas. As for the Fed suits, G3 Gundam has paper armour for that 340 cost (1850 base armour) though it does have a good amount of boost to stay in the air. This suit will be strong in closed spaces, but nothing more than that. Poor man's Act Zaku if used in the open space. Gold gets dual charged bazookas. 730 HP non-beam coat shield, it can't block while dual wielding or charging weapons. GM Cannon II is 280 cost, the beam cannon has a lock on function and has less power and range than heavy versions of the beam cannon. Gold gets all sorts of grenades, including jamming, inciendiary, and net grenade. No Bazookas at all for this assault. 730 HP beam coat shield. It's possible for this to anti air knockdown or stagger reliably with the twin beam cannon F, especially up close with that lock on. In order to resist it: code:
The GM Cannon II's weakness is that its as fast as the GM Guard Custom (1199 top speed), so it is vulnerable to melee and rockets. That large frame doesn't do it favors when trying to dodge in the air either. Mediocre load capacity. Expect to be killing a lot of this suit though, since 2 minute cooltime. As for me, I thought the MJ would be an upgrade from the heavy Act Zaku, but it isn't so I'm not spending DX after all on this. I don't need a suit like the marine for my deck, but I can see it being really useful for people who need a strong ranged assault grunt. I think the Marine's traits are fine honestly. Beam shooter(FA/FAF quality rifles are available at 280 cost on this suit) and combat custom are pretty top tier traits for an assault to have, considering what else it might have gotten. Doesn't get screwed over by quick switch, underwater armour, quick reload, explosive armour, grenade thrower, shield girder, etc. There are a lot of worse things it could have gotten given its weapons and melee move set. Base suppression is pretty map specific in usefulness(ranges from amazing to useless) but 2 out of 3 traits are solid. I laughed pretty hard at this G3 Heavy Gundam review Also I'm sure the Gelgoog Marine Commander will have the Alex quality gat, when it comes out as 360 cost. For 280 cost I can see why the Marine wouldn't have the same quality gat as the Alex.
