I would've figured Groot would be the GM. And Gamora looks like she's going "Just loving roll, no-one cares about your backstory, Nerd-Lord"

"Okay, Drax, you swing your axe and do 2d6 of damage." "I do not have an axe." "No...no, your character swings his axe." "Does he have an axe?" "Yes. Yes, of course he does." "Well, how am I meant to know this?!? Where is he, anyways? I do not see him!" "That's him there." "That is a small plastic figurine." "That's your character." "I do not like this game."

I haven't read any of the Guardians stuff post the movie release, did they change them much to more closely represent their movie counterparts?

Bendis essentially changed them several times to suit whatever the hell he wanted. Right now he's trying to make them truer to the movie and that's miles better than where they were a year ago. To be honest, Drax and Gamora seem fairly close to how they were in the 2008 series last issue.

He can fly and is invulnerable, so far. It's a byproduct of his resurrection through a magical macguffin shard. Nobody is bringing up the hows and whys in the comic, so don't worry about it.

Given how often people just accidentally get superpowers in the DCU, I'd be fine with any explanation really. one of my favourite comic moments ever is still, when Jaime Reyes explains away his year absence from school (due to being in space) by him just waking up in a a field with no memory after the events of Infinite Crisis, and nobody questions it because the same insane poo poo just happens all the time and in fact that exact thing happened to some kid one town over.

Actually it was "Coma Kid" a fellow student who was in a coma where he went back to 1973. Giffen and Rogers were big fans of Life on Mars.

And of course Captain America's not reacting, Bucky barely knows these people. Wolverine's probably just learned to enjoy the soap opera from years with the X-Men. Or he's hungover. And that's a less embarrassing admission than the one she could make about Johnny Storm.
