So with the Build Burning Try popping it's restraints to go Burning Burst, doesn't that mean each fight should end with Sekai having to climb up on that big-rear end arena afterwards to go pick up all the restraint pieces for it? :v:

Actually, I think all models are deposited in front of you if at all possible, or else picking up the destroyed remains of your kits would be a pain in the rear end.

His VA is the principal of Seiho Academy. So in theory if they wanted to do it, they already have his voice on hand.

It just hit me that the Tryon 3 stock background image showing the Earth and Space is visible to the entire audience even though the battle is set on the ground.

Minato Sakai has managed to program cutscenes into the Gunpla Battle System.

Given the title of this episode I was worried that Sakai would be the one to get chumped to show off Shia's ~=|Gunpla Building Skills|=~. I am glad it was not the case.

Nah, we've already mentioned the brackets, Sakai is going to be here till the semi-finals. That being said poor Sugita gets chumped by just one member of the Academy's team. On a poorly rendered CG Sid no less

Notice also that the episode was entitled 'Magnificent Shia' and that the G-Portent uses a beam whip. It looks like Fram Nara just escaped to a universe where female characters are allowed to do stuff other than die, have babies, or run taxi duty for the main characters.

I completely missed the brackets, gotta rewind back the thread and look them up. I'd feel a bit bummed if I were Sugita that my undying wish to voice a Gundam pilot not only goes unfulfilled but is an in-franchise joke.. Maybe he'll get cast for a role in the upcoming Origin OVAs as Job John.

The ZZ finally has its day in BF, and in the best way possible of all worlds.

The G-Portent fight was super cool, but my favorite part of it was that they didn't totally forget the plavsky trickery that Sekai somehow figured out to move in space and block the G-Bomber's missiles that one time. It makes sense that Shia would have refined that poo poo down to a science and lets them do the normal stereotypical "girls are delicate and pretty!" thing by making it an amazingly overpowered ability("she can literally dance on top of active missiles and use your beams as a surfboard").

They're still doing everything in their power to get away with doing 1v1 fights, though. :allears:

The most hosed up part of the G-Portent fight is that her method of "painlessly" disabling the opponent's gunpla involved shattering all its joints. Brutal.

I love that everyone watching was full-blown :wtc: stunned into silence by the transformation. I give Sekai a lot of poo poo for being a one-note character, but bless his heart for getting so excited by it (though I do think Yuuma was right - the Tryon3 should've been bigger rather than standard-HG-size). Just out of curiosity, anyone else laugh like an idiot at that Jegan getting the upper third of it's body vaporized and just falling backwards while still shooting?

Eh, I don't mind Shia's gunpla doing the "girls things are pretty" thing, because for once it's the exception to the rule. The other girls in the series have used gunpla that have been as brutal as the guy's ones. My only problem with her as a character is she's as blank a personality as Sekai.

and next episode doesn't seem to break the trend With the team gettings split up by the Renato Triplets.

My real problem with Shia is that they're setting her up as Fumina's BIG BADASS RIVAL but so far she's interacted entirely with Sekai and seems to be just another of his Ranma-style harem of love interests which... eeeeeeeeh.

That's the thing though. It isn't Anti-Gundam.

It's a ZZ Gundam, right down to having a needlessly complex combination that serves no purpose and weakens the unit's structural integrity!

Pureauthor posted:

Well, it would if they interacted. They're both the potential 'heirs' to Lady Kawaguchi. They just want her to have an Aila-style romance with Sekai despite that being like a black hole of charisma.
