Definitely do not buy keys with dollars.

You could buy keys with Zen earned from Dilithium, but statistically you're a lot better off selling the keys for Energy Credits and saving up to buy whatever you're after than you are using keys and hoping for a good drop.

I'm pretty sure its better money spent to just literally buy keys with real money, sell them on the exchange, and then buy them off the exchange.

I forget the math but buying keys, and opening lock boxes for lobi, you're looking at least $200 for the lobi ships. And you might not even get a lock box ship doing that. Don't spend real money on that stuff.

Wasn't there some pubbie losing his poo poo on ESD one night because he spent 600 dollars on lockboxes and didn't get anything? Which one of you posted that? I arrived at the tail end of his ranting so I missed the initial explosion.

Hey guys, don't worry about the game dying. The devs promise that they're going to turn things around "in the next couple of months". No mention of doing anything about all the auto-fail conditions on the current STFs. I think they really do want most STFs to fail.

It's more likely that PWE is demanding the lose conditions for some god forsaken reason and Cryptic can't do poo poo about it so they're desperately trying to talk about and tweak anything except that.

And yeah, I'll believe it when I see it. They rushed to make massive nerfs to specialization gains, mark rewards, and other such poo poo right after DR came out but it's suddenly going to take months to tweak the rewards up? :jerkbag: It's such transparently half-assed damage control.

I'm just waiting for them to change the 'plant explosives' optional on bug hunt to required.

Yeah, I expect the actual time table to be roughly the same as how long they took to add secondary deflectors.

Also I finally got off my rear end and added a list to the Wesley wiki of which mods the rep/set/unique items get when they're upgraded in the quality, since the game doesn't tell you poo poo and the official wiki is useless. It's incomplete and a lot is unverified, so if you see something wrong go and add it yourself.

It looks neat at least. I am easily amused by brightly colored lights and shiny things, so I'm probably going to get this even if it turns out to be unimpressive in play.

To avoid a longer explanation of what bridge officer and console layouts mean: yeah, probably. It's a cruiser, not a carrier, so it will play differently. It's also the first dedicated command-specialization ship so that would be useful to have around in general.

I'm still catching up on developments post DR but this specialisation seems custom made for carriers and the flagship isn't one.

Yeah a cruiser that can run a whopping 3 tac powers isn't gonna do much. Unless there's a real good FaW command power substitute at lt cmdr or less that I missed.

Yeah. A little bit of a grind isn't too bad, especially since it's getting the alt discount this time too.

Also it's not a crippled version with a lobi/c-store improved fleet variant like with the Obelisk or Dyson destroyers, that's a pleasant surprise.

The only reason to get the anniversary ship is to grind out the tier 5 trait (which is actually nice) and then swap back to something else.

It's true, you can only group in the Delta patrols if someone in the group is on the (one-time only) quest that includes that particular patrol. If you try it in a team otherwise you'll most likely be thrown into separate instances.

Kobali are the reanimated dead guys we are "saving" in the Kobali adventure zone. Basically, a seldom mentioned race from Voyager that NO ONE cares about.

You need to be level 10 to turn an existing boff into a command/whatever boff. If you desperately need a command boff right away you can buy white ones for ec. For training higher level command skills you'll need the craftable item which can only be created by people with lots of points into command, but those are sellable on the exchange so I assume they'll be dirt cheap as soon as pubbies start undercutting each other.

Tunicate

Looks like the patch on tribble won't let you train boffs to have rare skills.

Oh, but look, Q is back with a new minigame!

quote:

Q doesn’t care how many points you score, just that you completed the minigame in order to receive credit for his mission, but the points do matter. The more points you score, the better chance you have at scoring better quality Omega particle remnants which can be used with the R&D system to craft special Omega Upgrade Kits.

Omega Traces come in the three different colors of the Omega nodes themselves. Using the R&D system you can combine 1 of each Trace into an Omega Sliver. You can them combine three Omega Slivers into an Omega Shard, and three Omega Shards into an Omega Fragment. Three Omega Fragments can then be combined into an Omega Upgrade Kit.

For some clarification, "rare boff skills" appears to be those that only show up on boffs. If a captain can train it you can make a PADD for it at least. Trouble is, from the sound of it, when the system goes live it's going to basically drop whatever ability the boff started with back in the slot, so better hope you weren't using anything important or irreplaceable there... :psyduck:

^^^ It's only replacing the non-random rare skills that come with special boffs (like lobi/event boffs). If you got a rare boff from doffing and swapped it's rare skills, you don't get the original rare skill back.

81 traces to make an omega upgrade kit. 1 trace per minigame. Minigames are 2 per social zone instance, and unmarked unless you're on the daily mission. It's good to know that cryptic is listening to player complaints about too much grind.
