The fight where Raraiya yelled sarcastically about welding beams was good.
e: the same episode has some terrible but funny screen wipes too.

Drive being monster of the week as opposed to Gaim not having that is why I don't like it(Drive). Kill la Kill also never got into Monster of the Week stuff after the second episode. It was constant plot advancement.

I seem to have the opposite tastes in live action shows, though. Stuff like Star Trek and The X-Files are better as monster of the week. Animated shows tend to be really boring when they get that way.

I usually love lots and lots of action, but even so, the action in G-Reco isn't dynemic or fast enough to really grab me most of the time.

Yeah, MOTW works well for TV shows because it makes it a lot easier to get into or get back to. It gradually changes with streaming and whatnot, but I'm not necessarily a fan of that, because I don't really enjoy 12+ hours movies that a lot of shows with a strong continuity feel like.

Drive is actually really good though, and not bad.

it really isn't. there's tons of humor and the two most recurring characters are the comic relief, and all of it is actually pretty funny. There's good elements of comedic escalation with all the mafia shenanigans, too.

The highs were pretty high, but the lows brought it down. It was my favourite from its season, but there were a couple other comedies from that season that were better. You should watch it.
