These are really good photos and, for that reason, don't seem to match the spirit of this thread (most of the photos here are bad but yours are good) edit: actually to be fair everything on this page is good.

I'm not going to get into a dumb "art" debate but if you think that photo was worth posting I'd seriously advise stepping back and trying to learn how to self-select better.

So I know art doesn't have rules but in the interest of constructive feedback: It really helps to have a straight line in the frame that runs parallel to an edge of the frame. Usually this will be the horizon running parallel to the top and bottom edges, but folks like Winogrand (contra Ansel Adams) advocated that a vertical line like the edge of a building would be fine too even if it meant tilting the horizon. Rules aren't everything, but it helps when you break them to do so in a way that draws attention to something interesting about the image. Your photo doesn't mesh with any of the more common rules of composition and doesn't have any obvious artistic reason to have deviated except for "look at dis truck tho" mulls fucked around with this message at 22:17 on Jan 29, 2015 |

There's a difference between using your brain and being pedantic about artistic merit. It's not a good photo. And I'm the guy who whined about people fetishizing straight horizons.

On the other hand, I'm totally over the idea of photos telling a story.

Look at the photos by the people making sarcastic comments about art. Then look at the photos by the other people. Make your own judgement.
