I don't think they really hate it. It seems more that they think it's getting undo praise beyond the usual bounds of I hate it, you love it lets grab a beer and talk about something else. Also, a lot of the praise, at least what I've heard, seems to be about things like the revolutionary method of filming over 12 years than anything actually in the movie. By which I mean I rarely hear anything about the things that could have been done by making the movie last year and just having it be about the last 12 years. Which is why their joke is pretty much 12 YEARS TO FILM!!!

Really? Pretty much every review I saw was more like "The 12 year filming schedule is an amazing accomplishment, but putting all that aside, it's a powerful, entertaining, affecting movie all in its own right".

Nope - not yet. I've been hesitant to approach it, because it's not exactly...well...fun. I usually do a Trigger Warning Trilogy during the turn of the year, so if I were going to do it, right now would be the time. I'm just not sure what to say about it.
also I have a nasty cold, I just had an exhibition and I really should be job hunting at the moment - unemployed since April - so the videos aren't really coming out that quickly at the moment.

Hey guys Doug Walker here! After so long in development hell we finally have a release month for The Game Show. It's going to be in March. But you know what that means. That means that we need even more contestants because we've already gone through the ones we had before and we're looking for even more.
...
Our first shooting date coming up here (after the ones we've already done that is) is February 3rd. That's this Tuesday, so if you are in the Illinois area and you would like to be on our new Game SHow, please go ahead and contact http://channelawesome.com/Contestants.

Let us know, and see if you can actually get on. The ones we've had before have been great fun, the contestants have been great. They've gone up against me as the Nostalgia Critic, and it's just a whole great deal of fun. So go ahead and contact [that URL] if you're in the area and would like to be on the show, and possibly win some great prizes. Hopefully I'll see you there.

I think they genuinely are annoyed at how overhyped it was, and how people treated the "IT TOOK TWELVE YEARS" as a brand new stunning innovation when, as one of them already alluded to in one of their bits, the Seven Up series did it way better, but yea I also think most of the "OH MY GOD BOYHOOD ARGH BOYHOOD" is played up because it bothers some people who can't handle their favorite movie getting made fun of.

No, it sounds like she meant the opposite of bias towards Doug that they ended up screwing up. They tried to rig it so Doug would lose, but they mixed something up and Doug got the easy stuff by mistake.

Still hilariously incompetent, but at least not knowingly horrible to the fans they brought in as contestants.

Holy cow this movie looks amazing. I need to track this down.

Also if I had to guess this movie is probably called Kindergarten Ninja to capitalize on Kindergarten Cop, which only came out... four years prior.

Look I never said it was timely capitalization.

Great first episode. :)

"What is Kindergarten Ninja? Well, Kindergarten Ninja is a D.A.R.E.-sponsored movie..."

Starring a football player (in his first and only acting role) who makes references to a career highlight that occurred before the intended audience was even born.

:haw: Oh boy, time to get some popcorn.

Edit: This is kind of a searing indictment of teachers, isn't it? The judge says this guy is the worst person to stand before him in court. Then, as punishment, sends him to teach kids for three months. And then, he says that he wanted girls P.E.? :stare: Wow. This is just so weird for something clearly intended for the classroom.

Edit 2: That bit with the kid doing the alcoholic dance was straight stolen from Eddie Murphy's Delirious.

Edit 3: This was a great start to Movie Nights! :D And Alcoholic Dance kid is the best character in the movie, hands down. Heck, he'd make a great reoccurring bit!

It is and it isn't. I have notes written to follow the outline of the movie, but it's improvised off of that to give a more off the cuff feel. So far the response has been mostly positive, but it does throw some people off.

I like the more off the cuff feel, though I feel that more people in the video adds to the conversation as it allows for people to play off each other. It's the reason that I love Best of the Worst and Brad's midnight screenings. I don't know if you have plans for having guests in these videos like Phelous and Brad, but even if you don't want to do that, this new video is a plus. I'm eager to see where you go with the new format.

By the way Allison, have you heard of the Librarian trilogy? I just saw my copies of it and they strike me as something you'd like. They're a trilogy of campy made-for-TV movies that were more than a little inspired by Indiana Jones with a tiny bit of Warehouse 13 sprinkled in. They also partially star a magical Bob Newhart.

DeCoteau movies are impossible to talk about for any length of time usually (A Talking Cat?! may be an exception) because they're just some lame horror elements and a lot of softcore male nudity of gay porn stars walking around. Well, I haven't sat through one, but I've watched Dante's Cove and I'm assuming it's pretty much the same thing. First 7 minutes are amazing, the rest of it's mind-numbingly boring.

Angry Joe released his 10 Gaming Controversies video. Watching it right now.

I hadn't actually paid any attention to the Hatred controversy, but holy poo poo, actually seeing the game, I think Valve were completely in the right to remove it from Steam, so to hear that they put the game back up and apologized to the developers gives me a sick feeling deep, deep in my gut. And hearing Joe struggling to defend that decision, but coming up with no reason to defend it ("parenting!" is not a good defense) makes me feel even worse.
