I've given up on this PVE, this poo poo is ridiculous. I can't play these 3 hour refreshes after experiencing the 8 hour refreshes. Doesn't help everyone is gunning hard for Star-Lord. I'm just trying to maintain top 150 for the green mohawk cover.

Being part of a guild is pretty sweet because you progress alongside them as people contribute gold to complete tasks. PVP is neat too, though I hear the player quality ramps up at level 50. It's not as zippy as MPQ, but it's also not as P2W and stressful/frustrating as MPQ.

Hahaha they completely hosed up any fights with minions in them. They now have a slow animation to show that they're generating AP. So loving tedious

Sounds like they're already backpedaling - a couple guys on the forum complained, and the official guy was instantly like, "Okay, we'll make it an option in the next version" even before the next 500 people complained. And thank goodness for that, I'm still annoyed at the new-ish delays that stop you from switching ability tabs during the enemy's turn and from selecting an ability right when your turn starts.

I made the mistake of bringing Wolverine, Daken and Hood to a goon node. Each turn took nearly a minute between passives going off and the AP notification.

Ended up getting rank 2 in my Blade bracket last night. I ended up dropping some HP on a shield last night because gently caress losing to high level poopsockers. Ended up only 30 points behind the top ranked winner because several people couldn't win against me even with shields. 3* Thor complete set + 10k ISO which I immediately used to get several characters past 50.

I don't think we hit 250 much, but top 500 is pretty regular. We have a few people that play all the time, a couple who don't even get a fight in every day, and a bunch in between.

I'd love a spot on a Goon alliance, my group, The Endless, is mediocre at best. Not getting alliance rewards is seriously killing this. I have a pretty decent roster, always get 500+ in PvP and generally rank pretty high in PvE events. IGN: BaconCopter I keep on getting screwed with heroic/special draws... I have better luck getting 3* covers from the normal recruit tokens  . Besides the 3 I got in the 10 pack from the the last season, I haven't gotten a 3* in over 15 pulls...

Reading the past few pages, I see a lot of people feeling negatively about the game. Is it in a bad state right now? Is it possible to have fun as F2P if I'm mostly interested in the collecting aspect, and not super worried about being pvp competitive?

The negativity mostly comes from D3 releasing new characters at such a rate that you fall further behind on your collection every week. Even if you do get all the available covers, it's impossible to level them up as fast as new ones come out. It's perfectly fine to play F2P though. I haven't spent anything in the last year and keep up okay. If I weren't keeping other entertainment on simultaneously, though, I think I would have burnt out a long time ago.

My reason is the developers keep adding stuff in with no playtesting. The minion AP notification banner is one of the latest in a long long line of boneheaded 'improvements' to the game without any sort of testing at all leading to the game being worse off until they revert the changes.

I think the biggest issue is transitioning from 2* to 3*, because 3*s aren't useful until you max their skills and pump them full of ISO, which is hard to do when they're not that easy to come by. Like, if you started playing early on when there weren't too many 3*s and only X-Force Wolverine and Invisible Woman as 4*s, you had a decent chance of being able to build up a hero from PvP and PvE and tokens. Now, though, there are so many heroes but only 1 PvP event at a time, so the chance of the hero you want being a prize + you actually being able to place in the top 150 / 100 / whatever to get that cover are pretty low. Most of my maxed 3*s are pretty much from 2013 or early 2014 and I still don't have a maxed LazyThor yet. I did a bit of P2P back in 2013, but the covers that I got back then (Doom, for the most part) weren't really that instrumental in getting me to where I am now. I'm still able to get into top 25 on certain events as long as I'm motivated enough and hit the right time slot. Even got an Elektra on a PvE event that I barely participated in. So yeah, I think F2P is possible.
