In Queensland they've seen a massive swing against the Liberals to Labour, because people hate Tony Abbott that much, and were especially mad about the asset sales the state government was doing. It's entirely likely Abbott will get rolled by his own party and they'll select a new PM. This could either be a good sign for the future of New Zealand, and a warning for John Key, or it's a sign that the kiwis that moved to Australia are coming back

I'd say it's largely to do with Abbott also being the first muppet that doesn't require hand-up-arse manipulation to get it to open its mouth. He's been tits for yonks but knighting Uncle Phil and the comments about the carbon tax rollbacks being the best thing his government has done for women are the real clinchers. I'm not sure I want to live in a country that gets an appetite for rolling PMs though. The Aussies don't seem to be able to help themselves at the moment. We've had one in twenty years and they're about to have three in ten.

Not sure how it's going to be a warning for Key, he's already demonstrated he can do whatever the hell he wants and the general public will still think he's a beer drinking, rugby playing sort.

Key refusing to answer questions on/even acknowledge stuff like Sabin is honestly bizarre by this point. If he's painted as arrogant for it that'll be a problem. Abbott's just loving nuts

He managed to hold out until it got to court which is his saving grace as it's generally a bad idea for a PM to be commenting on anything to do with stuff before the courts. It's been pretty well managed anyway.

It sounds like the suppressed stuff won't just be a John Key issue, it will be a 'how many people in National were aware this was possibly going before it was an active investigation thing'. If there's any blood to be had there then it could be faction time all over again.

Yeah I'm baffled by Norman's retirement, seeing as he was leading their charge into neoliberal milquetoast Gen Y party, which is what I assume was their electoral strategy. Metiria seems a lot more left-wing on economic stuff and is way more concerned with social issues/inequality than Norman was.

All this bad mouthing about the greatest president we ever got is just sour grapes from loser dorks. jK is the man of men who is able to single handedly win the rugby World Cup for New Zealand next the World Cup of cricket will be ours it was Helen Clare's fault that the lovely boatmen of Auckland somehow manage to lose like 15 regattas in a row at match point. My favourite Jk moment? Well it has to be when he told everybody who isn't a politician or a top notch news Jorno like that guy with the big lips and ears to not have an opinion about politics whilst his own party is investigated for crimes then he riffs on his guitar [something exponents] and swigs down a beer. Top bloke. Mans man. My man. jK aka john "plank man" key. Voice of the people.
