What's the current best go client for android? I want to play with my brother and don't necessarily want to make him pay for kgs if it's not necessary.

Ogs runs well enough that you can run it from your browser if you have a full strength android device. But it doesn't switch automatically to a mobile friendly input mode and the setting is hidden in the preferences. I have the wbaduk app installed for the problem collection, but I haven't actually tried to play a game there.

Haylee just came out and admitted her real identity in her newest video. She really is a former pro player.

i enjoy her videos a lot cause its just her playing, she's not really trying to teach so much as just commenting her thoughts and intentions with her moves. its a different experience than most go videos out there.

I just checked her first 9D video and I'm suprised she lost 3 times since I haven't been really keeping up with her.

# ? Feb 2, 2015 23:05 |
Why would you be surprised she lost at 9D in a casual match with fast time settings? It's also really sad that spergs in the comments demanded she reveal her credentials so much that she had to acquiesce. Many times she insisted that it wasn't important who she was and people should just enjoy the Go, quite firmly. But welcome to the internet I guess o.m. 94 fucked around with this message at 09:20 on Feb 3, 2015 |

I just like the discussion of how she thinks about where to go, the kinds of sequences she thinks through, and how she evaluates them. No book really goes over that, and it's just nice to have examples of what to aspire to there.

I just read Searching for Bobby Fischer. The book has much more content than the movie, especially regarding the adult chess world. I'd say it's an enthralling read for anybody with an interest in Go.

http://eidogo.com/#url:http://files.gokgs.com/games/2015/2/11/Helsbecter-clipper.sgf Nobody is on right now so I'll post it here. Any opinions on this game? I'm trying to determine where things went wrong (the second half is me trying to shake a win out.) Up to move 24 things are pretty ordinary-looking, but his move at 25 is weird and I decided there was no real response to it. What do you all think about 30 and 34? Is it the right direction? It seems to go okay, but things go off the rails for sure after move 50. EDIT: changed link, just c/p it Under 15 fucked around with this message at 12:53 on Feb 11, 2015 |

Under 15 posted:http://eidogo.com/#url:http://files.gokgs.com/games/2015/2/11/Helsbecter-clipper.sgf There's no direct response to it, but my feeling is that when my opponent plays a strange move like that, the game starts to focus on him trying to make it a good move and you trying to make it a bad move. My feeling is that 30 is a little questionable for that reason, but that 34 in particular helped make 25 a good move because he could link up to it when he jumped out. Tactically, I really don't like 40. Not just because it lost you sente, but because it made it easier for him to threaten connect under on the right since you lost the peep from the other side. I'm tempted to play something around N10 or maybe O9 at that point instead.

25 is a stupid move b/c with b's thickness at d3 u dont really have many opportunities to make lots of territory down there anyway. that's a moyo reduction move for a non-moyo. ur ignore seems right. 30 is fine, 34 seems unnecessary to me. that side isn't big b/c of s7 so why not just take the corner or play m16.

s14 is a better way at move 40

The AGA posted a link to this online joseki game on facebook: http://www.josekifarm.com/ Overall, it's a pretty decent game-oriented interface to a joseki interface. It certainly pushes me on continuations that I did't know later in joseki, so I expect I'll use it as (yet another) way to procrastinate in work meetings.
