I ended up with some decent beam arrays messing around with crafting and upgrading, I don't always follow things so closely, is it CritD that's the current hotness? Trying to figure out where to price these things but due to pubbies being pubbies prices can be a bit across the board and theres no exact matches on the exchange to go by so figured I'd ask whats hot in spaceship guns these days? The beams are CritH heavy but I seem to recall the fleet tac consoles reducing CritH demand.

seems to be crtd is what you want since the specs can give you +acc

As a good rule of thumb, once you get past 20% base crit or so your biggest bang for the DPS buck is slapping on CrtD. This is basically the default state for romulans with five SRO boffs, and trivially easy to reach with a fed/klank captains and the right rep traits and ship consoles. Acc was pretty much entirely a PVP necessity, and for various reasons it isn't even really necessary there either these days. So yeah just slap on CritD and enjoy the massively inflated prices of CrtDx3/4 weapons.

I've been entertaining myself during a slow day at work by reading BBB complaints against PWE and some of them are simply hilarious. Best one so far - Pubbie claims his ban for botting was unjust because: quote:all i did was to fall asleep and prob have my hand at the keyboard http://www.bbb.org/greater-san-francisco/business-reviews/internet-gaming/perfect-world-entertainment-in-redwood-city-ca-375623/ edit: Reading further I found I missed some of the best quotes. After PWE responded twice that they were sticking to the permaban the guy completely went off the rails and started begging: quote:I have been playing alot the last months, and due to my lost job and my Girlfriend broke up after 10 years i have the time to play all day long. I don't know, that's a pretty impressive announcement. I was under the impression that such a move (long requested) was impossible due to engine limitations. I am excitedly looking forward to the more immersive sense of exploration we'll have flying around sector space because all the queues are dead and there's nothing else to do.

The queues are in a pull down menu and then there's argala. The rest of the game is fairly irrelevant. Also, the game is still going to look tiny, you'll go from one side of the known universe to the other in about 3 minutes. Woopty.

I imagine that there'll be the same 50-person limit to sector space instances so the galaxy is going to look much emptier than it is now.

More seriously, I wonder what this actually means for the game. I'm not sure if D’Angelo was trying to fight the dumbass asian grinds PWE was trying to added to the game and left in frustration/was ousted due to trying to resist, whether he was a big proponent of them and left when DR fell short of expectations, or whether his personal direction was irrelevant and PWE's just doing a staff shufffling because their bad decisions tanked the game. The specifics can really determine how things are going to be directed from here, but it's hard to say from outside the company.

Its really strange how non-solo friendly STO is, especially with the recent tack Cryptic has taken since DR. There's no point revisiting episodes outside of a very small few that have set rewards, no reason to do patrols outside of a handful that are only used because proper content doesn't give out good rewards in any reasonable timeline, and very few ways to make money or dil going it alone. Even flying around doing missions and harvesting every node you come across will leave you with a pittance of mats compared to just doing one queue. There's doffing and that's about it.

Unrelated, I finally got the bajor space option for the event daily quest and the dev responsible is even more hilariously incompetent than I remembered. While it's obvious they just searched for a 'bajor' map in the dev foundry, it's very very clearly not the actual bajor space map (it's not even bajor itself; it's bajor vii) and the nodes are carefully hand-placed around the space stations in the mission map so the dev had to have spent a good bit of time looking at it without even stopping to think about what the actual map looks like. It's such blatant proof they don't even play the drat game.

To be honest, I'm surprised the new boff system is actually not a cash grab mess. I mean, its buggy as hell but this is Cryptic were talking about but for the most part it actually seems like they expanded an ancient feature system and improved it without a lot of dil costs.

I have to hope that someone at Cryptic has noticed the crap reception this stuff has gotten and that he leadership change is a response to this. They were on the right track and doing really great stuff! Even the specialisation and new boff trees are ok, but it's all been implemented so weirdly. I'm really hoping Season 10 is the season of intelligent changes, like sector space. Things like fixing the queues again, rebalancing post-50 exp gain, and potentially looking at the grind for post-MkXII gear. While I'm dreaming, opening up seating options by allowing Boffs of any discipline to sit in universal seats would be a huge goodwill move, and would open up so many old purchases as viable again.

As for the lack of dil costs, maybe it slipped under PWE's radar due to taking too long, or maybe because of the huge post-DR backlash. Maybe the rewrite is looking to give them the ability in future to be able to sell us Attack Pattern Zeta: Instantly Win for lots of dil or zen.
