Make a square vehicle with jets on all four sides pointing along the side like a spiral, so that it can only spin around and go nowhere.

Wasn't it possible to make a vehicle that travels by exploding itself? Not the kinetikos, something more... Controlled. At least I seem to recall that. Would be cool if I remembered right and if it could be recreated somehow.

Update! Kalonzombie joins me as we take on an old Banjo boss that makes a spectacularly underwhelming return, we fight the rudest Jinjo so far and complete the second to last act of Nutty Acres. Also we go to Banjoland Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts& Bolts Part 7: Nutty Acres Act 5 & Banjoland Act 3 [YouTube]/[Polsy] Thread Submissions! So, as the well of creativity has run dry for me in terms of vehicles, I am To submit a vehicle, first build it keeping in mind what parts we have picked up in the LP so far. Then just send me a friend request, my gamertag is Dexo1. I will do my best to be vigilant and accept the ones I get. After I've accepted your friend request, go to the garage and under vehicle database select "send blueprint", find the vehicle you want to send, select my gamertag and I will do my best to show off your vehicle either in a mission or just driving (or attempting to drive) it around the level! As for people who don't own the game if you can find some way to visualize your suggestions so I can see where to start building it that would be awesome. There have been some really creative suggestions so far but I'm having trouble thinking about where to start with a lot of them. I don't want people to be left out because they don't own the game so if you can think of a way of showing me what you mean in picture form, post it and I'll do my best to recreate it! looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

For those of us without the game, I am working a copy/paste tile set image so that we can show him using Photoshop (or even paint) what we are hoping for. If anyone has ideas for the special pieces, I.E. guns, ammo, fuel, rockets, I will try to add them. I am using 85x85 as a the basic block size. I will host the image on LPix and post it here when it is finished.

I'm glad you're doing these videos. The game seems awful compared to its predecessors, but it doesn't seem as horrible as the internet made it out to be. Is it possible to get the right combination of weighty blocks and balloons to make your vehicle neutrally buoyant? That would be pretty neat and useful, I think.

I feel like all the cool alternative ways you can do missions are actually a really great thing about the game. it's just too bad I'm not original enough to think of any of those.

With all these different solutions people are giving I feel like if someone felt like lping this game in a way that would show it in the best light possible, they would get a group of three or four people, run the game blind, and then have all the missions shown split screen style to show off the different ways they all tackled the same problem. Of course that would involve finding that many people that both enjoyed the game enough to do that and had the desire to lp it to boot.

That LP has already been a thing, technically, although not finished.

At the end of the video kalon asked why we don't just use the movie ratings. The answer is likely that they are trademarked. In fact they originally were going to use X instead of NC-17 but they forgot to trademark that and the porn makers got to it first.

I forgot how annoying the snake train mission is. The reason you have to get that other car is because both Boggy and Captain Blubber are so fat they require an entire couch, so if you don't get the extra car you have to make two trips.
|
# ? Feb 5, 2015 09:44 |
|
Can you hop out of the car and use the B-button edit-on-the-fly to attach the third car? I feel like the other LP did that and it'd be a hell of a lot easier than trying to nudge your car backwards correctly on a rotating platform.

So I just had a brilliant idea for the next "push a jinjo out of the ring" challenge: Let's go full-on Battlebots on this. Build a wedge in front of your vehicle and see if you can get the jinjo to roll over you and out of the ring. Like one of these shapes. The laziness of the game design is becoming apparent now, at least to me. They couldn't be bothered to come up with new types of Jinjo challenges, so they made "test of strength" challenges have inclines at the edges of the ring. That doesn't make it more challenging so much as it makes it more annoying. Also, did that "rudest Jinjo" fart on you? Those gas clouds when you have it caught in your vehicle trap seem to show that it is. Rare really should have come up with a new IP for this. They did make Viva Pinata, and if they had decided to use their brains, they could have come up with something here. As it is, we have Mumbo Jumbo using "eekumbokum" as a statement of exasperation. It's ersatz Banjo-Kazooie.
|
# ? Feb 6, 2015 01:07 |
|
It probably would have been a different IP if it had been designed like this from the get go. The problem was that they made a Banjo Kazooie game with a bunch of assets, then realized the levels were too big and added cars, and then proceeded to make the entire thing car based.

For almost every Jinjo challenge like the test of strength or the combat, you are facing the wrong way at the start. If you do it like Dex does it, you will always have an uphill battle, pun intended. Strength ones have a big wall or a tree ahead of you too!

I'm hoping this is neither crowdfunded nor fails on the business/schedule side of things like double fine always does. It sounds like they'll have the character of those old rare games down pretty well though, so no worries there.

Part of me would be happy with kickstarter then the other half looks at the lack of any updates from the other games I've kickstarted. The only updates tend to be "Hey we got fanart" or "Hey we are going be in a crossover from another game."
