This game is the best when you're in a fight (or, earlier on, out on an expedition) and you're getting your rear end kicked and you're thinking "I'm going to die here, why the gently caress wouldn't this be where I die" but you miraculously pull through and you have zero potions left and all your pawns are dead.

This is why no one should warn newbies away from escorting Reynard to Granwall the moment their lvl.12 rear end arrives in Gran Soren. It was absolutely harrowing, but man did that suck me into the game for good. And I didn't even fight the two Chimera along the way (it was night by the time I hit Heavenspeak Fort and NW Gransys so I ran away from undead sorcerers and phantasms instead).

I can very easily say mine is when I finally figured out how useful the Conquerors Periapt + Blast Arrows combo was on a level 76 character that'd been a Ranger since level 25.

I loaded my self and my pawns up with CP's and Blast Arrows and took on the Unholy Priest on BBI. Popped a Liquid vim and four Periapts, equipped the arrows and turned on Tenfold Flurry. The results were....:unsmigghh:

No. Companies like Capcom plan years in advance. It most likely went into development after the restructuring mid 2013.
Besides, games take a long rear end time to make. We see new monsters, a new city, multiplayer stuff, new environments and they say the map will be as big as Dragma's. It is impossible to bang all of that out in 3 months, even if they used old assets and there weren't a billion meetings that have to happen before the game gets made.

Its just Capcom trying to squeeze some kind of profit out of Dragon's Dogma, the same as Dark Arisen. Reuse the gameplay and the assets as much as possible and hope people will be willing to spend money on it this time.

If anything all of the people getting it free from ps plus and going "oh actually this game is cool" might have pushed them toward this. So here's another free thing, please pay real money for clothes or whatever.

Spamming Full Moon Slash worked pretty well for me. With a little help from pawns, you should be able to take it out at that level.

You could probably set up a ruinous sigil before you open the chest, too. I don't think it hits prior to the mimic attacking you? I'm not sure, though, I haven't really MK'd in BBI.

That depends. If sea water works in this game like it did before, it might be almost as bad as the cliffs and you can't trust teams of random people to be less stupid than pawns.

I guess no more Brine. That was one of those things that (to my knowledge) never did get resolved in the first game even though it was obviously hinting at something big.

I always thought they just decided they needed to come up with an explanation for why you couldn't swim instead of just having your guy instantly drowning like every other game.

Also it made for extra hilarity when you become god and also a ghost at the end and still get killed by the haunted water.

Are you using moves other than the multishot one, the ricochet lightning one and the set-yourself-on-fire one? If so then fix that.

e: also equip the magickk-boosting sorcerer skill if your magickk stat sucks

I've been using Nineshot Bolt, Explosive Rivet, and Ricochet Shot for bow skills and Sunflare, Hundred Kisses, and Immolate for dagger, yea. I just don't seem to be putting out the same amount of damage as everything else.

Unless I'm fighting the minotaur dudes who I forget the name of or Gorecyclops's. Ice really fucks those guys up.

Those bow skills are just fine, but I'd pack Magick Rebalancer on your daggers for extra oomph when you need it, in lieu of scarfing down periapts. Mag boosting augs are definitely ideal, especially if you came into the class from a mostly Red or Yellow class background.

As is the usual case, make sure you're always keeping your weapon(s) top-of-the-line and upgraded. Everfall-tier weapons at the very least, and there's no reason to not have it 3-starred, if not dragonforged if you're in the post-game/NG+. The last third of BBI can be a real motherfucker, but its all enemies you'll be running into for essentially the rest of the game.

And speaking of enemies, make sure you're hitting dudes where it hurts. Sometimes well-meaning Mages will enchant you with something useless.

Lastly, I'm pretty sure you've posted here a lot and have your Arisen at a decent level, but for posterity: going into the last third of BBI sub-lvl. 70 or so is suicide.

What's your approach for the other dudes? A lot of things will get stunlocked to death by ricochet spam in hallways. If you're in an open area and are fighting something that doesn't care much about Ninefold, you can try to bring them into a hallway and ricochet them to death.

Instant Reset is a literal life saver if you're quick with it, and shines through the most when you're in the sewers, as you can Reset out of the "put away lantern" and "relight lantern" animations.

The minotaurs are called Eliminators. It took me ages to realise it was because eliminator. Also I've got no idea how you fight them because ricochet shot murders them so completely I never bothered trying to actually engage one.
