If you haven't watched Lewis Hamilton in Senna's old Mclaren, do yourself a favor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YbKgW-gX7SI I don't think his giddiness was for show, you can see how genuinely privileged he felt to drive that car: it's like putting on Superman's cape.

You can buy an R8 LMX right now in Europe, it's the run-out model before the new R8 shows up. Audi aren't the only people who've developed laser headlights, MB tried to get them past NHTSA, as did BMW and I think maybe also Toyota, but US regs are in desperate need of updating. Having been a policy drone in a different bit of the government for the last six years I now know that even if that's not completely impossible it will take forever and the regs will still be terrible once they're done. The lasers are LED based.

I completely agree... FMVSS is somewhat of a shitshow. A camel is a horse designed by a committee. A rhinoceros is a horse designed by a government committee.

Or get rid of windows entirely and install bullet cams around the car, displaying the road directly on their visor. VR that poo poo so the view shifts with their head. Then watch all our favorite racers die in fireballs because the lag destroys their ability to take corners.

Yeah it is front engined and front drive biased, so it needs more tire up front. My car friends are very divided on that thing. The chassis setup guys and drivers are wondering wtf and the aero guys are talking about how cool it is.
