OK, thanks. I thought they were labeling voter's party or something.

Why are Chris Christie, Scott Walker and Jeb Bush not on this graph? Are they just analyzing underdogs or some poo poo or are those guys "the field"? Because if it's a list of long shots then where's Sarah Palin?

Looking at this list, I'm very optimistic about Hillary's chances if she runs because, my God, that's a lovely list of Presidential candidates. I mean, that's really, really bad. The GOP is going to HAVE to nominate Jeb to have a chance, aren't they? Or is there some dark horse candidate I haven't considered yet?

Um, all that "harassment" gives Warren more power in the Senate, which Dem leadership needs to give her to keep her out of Hillary's hair.

Oh, indeed it is and I am a retard. It's still spectacularly lovely field of candidates though. Bush and Christie I can almost tolerate (in the sense that I can understand why someone might vote for them) but when 3 of your top 5 are Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio and Rand loving Paul, there's some problems with your field.

Yes. They already paid her off for not actually running by creating a Senate Leadership position. Now they need control her use of that position to push the Overton Window too far to the left for whatever they feel is their ideal framing for the 2016 campaign.

... Warren didn't want to run. They put her into leadership because they were hoping she could maybe help democrats capture some of the excitement her campaign generated by helping with strategy.

Or, you know, conspiracy theories. Either way.

The prospect of Democrats engaging in intelligent political decisions would be absurd on the face of it, yet we face the real prospect of a third Bush trying for the presidency.

I just wanna take a minute to remind people of this actual press release issued by the Gingrich campaign last time round:

quote:

The literati sent out their minions to do their bidding. Washington cannot tolerate threats from outsiders who might disrupt their comfortable world. The firefight started when the cowardly sensed weakness. They fired timidly at first, then the sheep not wanting to be dropped from the establishment's cocktail party invite list unloaded their entire clip, firing without taking aim their distortions and falsehoods. Now they are left exposed by their bylines and handles. But surely they had killed him off. This is the way it always worked. A lesser person could not have survived the first few minutes of the onslaught. But out of the billowing smoke and dust of tweets and trivia emerged Gingrich, once again ready to lead those who won't be intimated by the political elite and are ready to take on the challenges America faces.

I mean, it's not a conspiracy. Warren didn't want to run, but that doesn't mean that she didn't use party base enthusiasm for her candidacy as a bargaining chip to get a better position in the Senate. It also doesn't mean that putting her in that position didn't have any other benefit to the Dem establishment besides foreclosing a presidential bid.

It also doesn't mean that she won't be pushing Hillary to the left, or that centrist establishment Dems won't try to convince her not to do that.
