The lesson is never try.

Are you using LoungeDestroyer chrome extension? Works really well.

Has nothing to do with it, Steam sends you an email in order to confirm a trade, except that didn't work last night. Steam acknowledged the issue in a tweet today, no idea if they fixed it yet.

yeah I do but I feel like a dick doing it, I feel that extension is probably 90% of the reason the website crumbles under large amounts of traffic. But it works and I only started using it because otherwise you can't bet when it's busy.

Same here, I just could get a bet on. How often does it send a request? If its just 1 or 2 per second then it shouldn't cause the site any problems and I don't see why it would need to send more requests than that. Disclaimer: I've no idea what I'm talking about.

Random thought. Has goonman ever held a tournament on the server? I was thinking we could basically get a pool of people from here together then assign people to each team based on the sub.io RWS in a way that makes the teams as close to statistically even as possible then run some bo3's over a weekend. Obviously the number of people able to play would be a huge factor, and one of the servers would have to be blocked off from pugs for a couple of days for it, but I think it would be cool to snag a couple skins / steam games and let some teams actually stick together for more than a single pug.

Some notorious botter/match fixer called Stormberg tried to get a small clan to throw a match for him and well...

http://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/2vixor/onlinebots_statement/ posted:

Hello,

We never had the intention to throw the match against Imperial Dragons, it was never even considered. Stormberg approached us and offered to throw the match for skins(1800$). He gave me 30$ in skins to show that he is serious. I talked to my teammates and we decided to screw him over by making him pay us up front and still winning the match. He agreed to pay us roughly 300$ up front. Thats exactly what happened, he payed 3 of us 67$ and 97$ to me in skins upfront and got instantly blocked and removed from our friends list.

The match: Knowing that he indeed is betting on the match we went into the game super-confident, knowing that losing is not an option. We did gently caress up the veto though, thinking it was ban ban pick, we banned overpass and wanted to ban season and then pick a map that was favorable for us, but instead we picked season. Admin said we couldn't redo the veto and later added, that we could redo it if the enemy agreed to it - they didn't.

For clarification: OnlineBOTS does not encourage matchfixing and people like stormberg are bad for competitive scene as whole.
Nuga never accepted anything from Stormberg, he has always had a sick inventory. PROOF: http://puu.sh/fLN2N/663e3ec2f9.jpg

edit// Proof of trade: http://puu.sh/fLRkL/1e1061301b.jpg

edit2// We talked with CSGOLounge and they found enough proof that they confirmed the match and items will be drafted.

http://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/2vj5ky/as_i_predicted_all_of_stormbergs_accounts_are/ posted:

OnlineBots decided to take Stormberg's bribe but still win the game, so Stormberg lost $24,000.00 on that game and now Lounge is banning all of his accounts so he loses anything in his returns and so on. So that means he lost at least $24k and probably is going to lose a lot more, upwards of up to maybe 50 or more grand.

I tried to put a 2v2 tournament together two years ago, went pretty well all things considered. Granted, my admin was removed like half way through the tourney so it never really finished. We had low gravity matches, smg only matches, it was pretty fun.

Re-read, we wouldn't allow for selecting the players on the team just so we don't have 1-2 stacked teams, but rather have fairly equal playing field.

Seems like a fun idea but it'd probably kinda suck to organize so I'm not volunteering. Perhaps have captains and draft teams like normal except there would be say 4 teams instead of 2. And obviously let's bet on the matches.

I'm happy to organize the teams, tournament set-up etc. The only issue is I'm a) not an admin, and b) don't want to take over a server that's not mine.

why
ok so we would either need 4 or 6 teams. a tournament with 4 teams doesn't seem that fun, and 6 seems like too many. if we try to do it with 4 players, we will need 20 people who can commit to specific times for matches etc.

is this something worth planning? bust out the google doc spreadsheet?

I would play in this. You should start by making a sign-up sheet, have people vote for the (however many, I think 6 is fine) captains, and then they can draft the people who signed up.

e: of course, if not enough/too many people sign up, team number should scale accordingly

Honestly I think 4 teams round robin bo3 would be pretty fun. 6 is pretty large, and would probably require more than just one day of playing, but could be interesting as well.

Yeah, no way you could get everyone involved to commit for that long a period of time on the same date, even if we do have two servers to do it in.

Based on the number of players playing on the servers lately, I think we might be surprised by how many would sign up...someone create a sign-up and see what happens?
