My guess is one of those is V3, one might be Rome 2 (which they will continue to tease about right up until announcement) and one... :iiam:

I hacked Paradox and found the marketing blurbs for their new projects.

Concert of Europe
Set in the period between 1814 and 1836, Concert of Europe adds a new twist to Paradox Development Studio's many history based games. Taking place in the peaceful aftermath of the Napoleonic Wars, Concert of Europe invites the player to enter a world of intrigue and diplomacy, where victory more often than not is won not through force of arms, but by a silver tongue.

Legacy of Steel
The date is March 6th, 1953, and Stalin is dead. The fate of millions hangs in the balance, and they need your guiding hand. Will you plot a new course of the USSR, or honor the memory of the man who saved the world from Fascism? The choice is yours, General Secretary.

End of History
The USSR has fallen, and America reigns supreme. In this game of warfare, diplomacy, and economics, it is your task to maintain America's belief in their final victory, as an enemy thought defeated rebuilds its strength, and the sins of the past come back to haunt the present.

I've always thought that would be a perfect name for a modern-era grand strategy game, assuming you don't mind the title of your series being sort of a sarcastic joke.

While we're throwing out crap we want to see, Johan please make a title circa 1750-1850 about Enlightenment, industrialization, and Napoleon.

ALSO please license the COIN boardgame system from GMT and make some very unprofitable niche titles about dirty wars, thanks

Basically. I committed a huge number of troops to the Gulf War and successfully overthrew Saddam's regime. I set up a client state, when suddenly, for no apparent reason, the Soviet Union nuked Iraq. I was too dumbfounded to do anything, when suddenly I got the message that China, evidently pissed at the USSR nuking Iraq, nuked the USSR. The USSR and China proceeded to unload their nuclear arsenals on each other, and once they were out of nukes, France nuked the Soviet Union for good measure. The whole exchange resulted in the deaths of over a billion people. Then Japan conducted coups of the USSR and China, leaving capitalist governments in charge of the irradiated wastelands that used to be China and Russia.

Yeah, a satirical approach really seems like the best approach to a modern-era setting, given that it would lack the distance to the subject matter of Paradox' other games. Plus "End of History" works as a meta-joke on it being literally the last historical period Paradox could explore.

To clarify, some countries won't be able to go all the way to Free Market without thirty years to change sliders in, since their government types don't allow it. In that case, it's probably best to go full Central Planning so you're getting at least some benefits (though you also get penalties to upgrading etc. so it's not always guaranteed).

If you have the actual unconstrained choice between Free Market and Central Planning, always always always go free market.
