Rhyno, where are all your lovely old trade paper backs? Did you sell them on amazon? You have so few paperbacks it's disconcerting. My storage shed of an office, I have a baby on the way, so I had to move my bookshelves out of the living room.

God drat it. Local Goodwill had hundreds of trades, HUNDREDS. And they priced them like singles, $1-4 each. I don't have room for anything so I called a buddy and hung around with them in a cart until he showed up. He bought everything they had. Said he'd let me pick through whatever he doesn't want but I doubt there's much he won't keep as he's a hoarder.

ATTENTION: IT'S ANOTHER BSS SHELF-PORN RAFFLE! In celebration of...um, making it to the middle of February, between now and Midnight, Eastern Standard Time, Feb 20th, 2015, anyone who posts at least one photo of their comic bookshelves will be entered into a random drawing to win a Custom Title gift certificate (a $5.00 value! ). It's just like winning the Powerball! This contest is open to any Something Awful forum member except myself, and you must have some comic-related books/hardcovers/trades/binders/whatever in the photo. Shelves and books can look immaculate or be thrown together in a disgusting pile--just show off your collection! You can post as many pictures as you want, but you will only be entered once. Good luck! Alhazred, Rhyno and Shawn are already eligible for the shelf-y pics they just posted. redbackground fucked around with this message at 22:22 on Feb 15, 2015 |

lovely panorama. (Thanks for the Grendel mask, Big Bad Voodoo Lou!) Mainly trades. Floppies and small things on top, Marvel and oversized books on the bottom. The black void between Sandman and Watchmen is Sin City. There's also a small pile of my friend's floppies I'm supposed to read, but I don't think I'll find the time. I started keeping some of my more memorable floppies in magazine holders, but am slowly transitioning to using binders. It's not really space efficient, but I like how it looks and keeps me from cutting up books to get them bound. (I don't really want a new title. Feel free to keep my name out of the hat...) EDIT: Here's my side table. Books I need to put away or give back to people who lent them to me on the left. Books I want to read/reread on the right. Random coffee table books on the bottom. Also, my tablet that I get a lot of my comics reading through, lately. Uthor fucked around with this message at 03:52 on Feb 16, 2015 |

I like old collections that are made up of just random rear end old trades, from back when they would just randomly collect weird poo poo and there seemed to be no rhyme or reason. I get self-conscious about my collection because there's so much random poo poo that collects like 5-6 random issues out of some random run that the publisher thought would be big, but then never went anywhere. Spider-man and Batman were the worst back in the late 80s and 90s with just collecting random rear end arcs, and I would eat that poo poo up. I like to know I'm not alone, all the newer collectors have all nice matching bindings and fancy hardcovers that collect 20 issues that make up a cohesive story, gently caress that!
