Rather Brat Pack… I love that now convergence finally gets to erase the really dumb "10 years of Robins" now and this is when they choose to address it. They choose to address it after it shouldn't matter. Or am I just confusing this with a new concept

Not going to bother giving Rich traffic, but apparently a recent retailer convention revealed that Geoff Johns is only going to be writing one comic from this point forward. How the times change.

I would hope his hint at working on something with Gary Frank would be something other than Batman Earth One. "At the DC retailer roadshow at Orlando on Friday, a retailer asked about this and was told that Justice League will be his only monthly comic book going forward" could just mean transitioning into July. I hope so. He's much better writing for a character than a team. e: Read Multiversity: http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=preview&id=26095 Teenage Fansub fucked around with this message at 23:51 on Feb 15, 2015 |

I hope in the future Jim Lee will be remembered for three things: X-Men, the Hush storyline and drawing Hitler taking a dump while reading a comic with Superman punching him on the cover.

Mortal Kombat X keeps being pretty good. And Kotal Kahn is becoming my favorite new character. Still (and I know is kind of a silly thing to get upset by), I'm incredibly dissapointed at Netherrealm for taking the Matyinctec route with him. As I mentioned before, the guys obviously did their research while designing him. So it baffles me the decision of making him the Mayan god of sacrifice (and of Mayans in the middle of the loving Amazon to boot) The only thing they needed to do was to change Mayans for Aztecs and Buluc for Huitzilopochtli. Why Netherrealm, why?

Nah, that's a rational thing to get upset about. It's actually kind of racist to mix and match cultures like that, which also happens with Asia a lot.

No seriously, fight games research goes as far as "What did I see in other fight game that looked cool" then pulling a few photos for reference of what they're based on from GIS and then drawing. Fight Games character design is incestuous to the point of in jokes making fun of this have become full fledge characters who were then ripped offed or parodied in another fighting game.

I find that hard to believe when Kotal shares so many elements with Huitzilopochtli: blue skinned, Sun deity, feeds on human hearts, incredibly protecting of his people/family, the Macahuitl is a weapin only found within the Aztecs. There's also the fact that Ogre it is a mix and match of Mesoamerican/south american elements while Kotal's overall design retains a lot of influence from Aztec elements (the helmet, the bones, the marks on his chest). I might be giving them way too much credit but they got so many things right to be pure coincidence.

Thanks for reminding me! Tom King gave a small interview to EW about Convergence quote:It’s an idea that’s always been integral to the DC Universe, and one of the strongest differentiators between the publisher and its chief competitor, Marvel: legacy. DC heroes are more often than not about upholding a mantle that’s passed on from hero to hero—the Green Lantern Corps, the family of characters that form around Batman and Superman, all the people who have taken on the role of The Flash—the heroes of the DC Universe are bigger than the people who wear their masks. But they’re also part of a family, which is something that resonates strongly with King. The interview also includes this awesome spread about the multiple deaths of Superman
