He's the one who 400 years ago hosed up the world and is just hanging around waiting for something to happen, and Aconolgia is just a different person with a different agenda and their paths occasionally cross.

Acnologia sounds great on paper. A dragon slayer who slayed too many dragons, turned into a dragon and then kept right on killing more dragons. That's dedication, there. In practice, he isn't terribly interesting.

Really though Brain/Zero was (were?) just the worst Brain goes down like a chump because he underestimates a Wizard Saint, the thing everyone in the series knows not to do, even though his whole thing is being a smart guy, and Zero had no interesting visual gimmick or magic, he just hit a little harder than his minions and recycled Jellal's dark magic. Wowee. On top of that there's no emotional attachment or anything really hateable about he/them. He has no personal connection to any of the characters, he's just some random jerkoff. Angel's Evil Lucy, Cobra's a Dragon Slayer, Midnight and Racer are super smug pricks. The worst thing Brain ever does is shoot Cobra while he's about to kill Natsu and Zero just snaps his weird talking staff in half. In conclusion he sucks and I hate him.

Retroactively giving him a reason to be hated doesn't do a whole lot when he's not relevant to the story. Man with all of these posts I wondered what on Earth had happened in the middle of the week. Was a new chapter of Zero out? The poo poo was about to hit the fan. Oh man, something amazing must have happene- Oh, there's two chapters + 2 extras of Ice Trail out today. *Ice Trail 7 + 8 Spoilers* Oh it turns out Gray and Juvia had an almost-meeting as kids. I didn't remember that thing about the King being Edolas Makarov so I looked it up and found out that the anime has an exclusive Edolas Gajeel, who is a 1920s newspaper critic. That is loving radical.

The gross fanservicey stuff I mostly dislike from a "I like cool fighting ladies, these are cool fighting ladies, but why do they also need to be naked so often" standpoint as opposed to a "ew gross cartoon boobs" one because honestly that poo poo doesn't even register with me so it seems bizarre when people take such issue with it. But I'm willing to ignore a certain amount of fanservice if the rest of the content is as punchy and fun and cool to look at as Fairy Tail.

I definitely can't criticize the fanservice too much without being a hypocrite because Negima is my favorite manga, but yeah it's annoying. It's fine if Lucy or whoever wear dumb outfits, but let Erza be above that.

Yeah I wish the fanservice in FT was just big boobs or juvia fapping in the shower or whatever "normal" stuff. I don't like it, but it doesn't rate with me beyond being funny or sometimes cute. This humiliation angle FT is starting to take is creepy and unsettling. I don't read light-hearted stupid shonen with a shallow mud puddle of a plot to see grown women stripped naked and tortured for information.

Akamatsu learned 1/3 of the way through and dropped down to occasional panty shots (except with SA favorite Rakan who somehow never takes flak for it,) while FT has become increasingly gross with the angles and torture porn especially with Ezra, which is particularly egregious when she's supposed to be the strongest guild member but personality-wise has become a terrible female stereotype pining after Gellal and being S&Med naked twice in a row now. The highlight of FT was probably the arc that ended with a bunch of crystals and Ezra beating the crap out of a non-female opponent, and I doubt Mashima is going to reverse the trend when he's started the slow descent of even including Wendy in the fanservice menu after her being immune for the few years after she was introduced.

The highlight of the last arc (has it ended?) was Natsu going bonkers on Mard Geer. Sadly it didn't mean much. Something I just get tired of is the back and forth bullshit we constantly get in Shonen manga. It happen sometimes but it's fairly rare; when someone just completely dominates their opponent. None of "FRIENDSHIP" bullshit that FT and One Piece do a lot.

Just finished the tower of heaven arc. It took a while for me to get the whole thing about Erza's left eye being a prosthetic neat little detail there and given a1/Satelight's work ethic detail is thin on the ground. I really appreciate the whole "don't sacrifice yourself for others. That's really stupid." line there too. Bout time some one gave that trope a beating. Simon I'm more surprised he lasted that long and it at least fit with the theme they were for going for IE: Getting yourself killed, regardless of intent, is going to leave everyone loving miserable as it did Erza before with Rob and, now that I'm thinking about it, the whole todo with Gary and Ur I can't think of one death that I've seen so far that hasn't been painted as leaving everyone a complete wreck at best and completely psychopathic at worst. Edit; Oh and whilst I've got the floor, those random G Gundam Refrences in the fight with Taka came out of nowhere and I totaly appreciate them. Nothing has even changed, really. Wendy and Lucy took out some fodder before needing Natsu to come to the rescue. What was the point of the timeskip aside from getting to see Charle's rear end and give Lucy new fetish wear for future arcs
