So last night on the Beyond the Summit Dota2 twitch stream I heard a song that I'd describe it as 80s video game throwback music. Full of bleeps and bloops, really, really upbeat. At the time everyone posted the artist name, and I'm about 75% sure it was a man's name with the last name "Danger". The name of the song was also something vaguely video game related. I am having trouble remembering enough specifics to google it, so I'm hoping its something that someone here knows what it is.

All of his music basically sounds like old game music, so it's hard to narrow it down. As far as I know, all of his track names are always times (like 4h30, or 3h16), so it's also hard to know what title you might've seen. He hasn't put out a ton of tracks, though, so you should be able to just dig through them and see what sounds familiar. Or just listen to them all because Danger is really good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SsjXP7jWK0k

Thanks, but i was completely wrong about the name of the artist so that's why I couldn't find it. It wasn't "Danger", but rather "Murder" and this was the song and artist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZrG1wKOy1I

I've been looking for a song and/or album today and haven't had any luck. There was a metal band/metalcore band that had a song or album called 1.21 Jiggawatts and google isn't giving me any results. I seem to remember it being from around 2004-2009.

Can anyone help me identify the backing track to this video? https://vimeo.com/8970313 Its a remix of You Got The Love by Florence and the Machine. Its also POSSIBLY a remix of The XX remix of the same track Not sure if it helps or not but I got it from some music blog years ago and the filename had "YGTL" instead of the full track name.

Can anyone go here and help me identify the outro song to episode 394? It begins at 1:10:55. I've tried soundhound and putting snippets of lyrics into google and came up with nothing, so if anyone happens to know I'd appreciate it it's acoustic guitar & a female vocalist, in case that's your getdown

Jazz Marimba posted:I'm trying to find a band I watched on youtube a while back, which doesn't seem to be in my history for whatever reason. It was a live performance on KEXP with a guy interviewing them a bit between songs. It was instrumental and very note-y, probably mathrock or postrock. One of the guitarists had curly hair and a very thin moustache, and at one point the interviewer asked them "what role does music theory play in your music, if any?", to which they responded something along the lines of 'not really, haha' and saying they just listen to bands they like and come up with parts by emulating them. The band is Chon, and it turns out they were on audiotree, not kexp. Thank you youtube suggestions!

This melody has been in my head for the past decade or so, and I can hear the song very well for the most part, but can't for the life of me remember who or what it is. This has been a search I've been on for yeaaaars, and I post this little MIDI clip I made every couple years in case someone can help me remember it! It has sort of soft/whispery vocals over it. http://tindeck.com/listen/czry

Music video description, for an EDM song with kind of a jungley xylophone sound. Featured 3 women in red and black tight clothes, two had red hands on the back and one on the front. They were dancing I front of a screen in a New York street showing nature scenes.

My dad bought an old Cadillac last summer and my sister found a cassette tape of Chinese music under the seat. There's one song on the tape that is quite peppy with a woman singing but the chorus is just a dude laughing that gets more and more intense/insane. Anyone have any ideas?

Same sample but no. The track I'm thinking of was early to mid 90s and I want to say had grand puba on it (possibly as a guest mc) though listening through his discography has turned up nothing. It was a pretty popular track back in what is commonly referred to as 'the day'

Heard this coming from a passing car, and I wonder if it's a newer song or one I can't remember. It's a repeated piano sample, 8 notes + 1 on the same tone, followed by 7 notes a step lower, with the notes going by at least 160 bpm or faster. I'm pretty sure the piano part has been used on This American Life, but I think the song I heard had more than just piano, and maybe a sort of hip-hop beat behind it.

This one should be easy: a rap song with a repeating, a bit tinny pentatonicish guitar riff repeating through the whole thing. It sounded like there was a bit of oscillation in the guitar sound (a flanger or a phaser). Also, there was a guitar solo toward the end of it. I guess it is quite recent and hugely popular.

I always hear this one but miss the lyrics. It sounds like late 70's-early 80's soft rock and has a chorus of synth chime that goes Dee doo, dee doodeedoo followed by a rising ooh, ooh, oooh-oohwooo! from the band. Any ideas?

Looking for a song late 80's early 90's, with a singer like Steve Winwood in Higher Love. I keep hearing the harmony of the chorus but not the words, something like "Change in me and a change in you" or a "fire in me fire in you" I'm pretty sure of the me and you part but whats in front of it could be anything.

I'm trying to identify a song based entirely on a different song. This is You Didn't Try To Call Me by Frank Zappa off the Cruising With Ruben and the Jets album: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFVx_GqFkCA. Starting at about 1:52 (I guess I'd call it the bridge) and continuing for about 30 seconds, the chord progression and melody reminds me of another song but I can't remember which. I want to say it's a Queens of the Stone Age song but I can't for the life of me remember which. Any thoughts? e: Found a transcription of that part of the song http://www.zappa-analysis.com/youdidnt.htm if that helps TopherCStone fucked around with this message at 14:18 on Mar 11, 2015 |
