No Knock is probably my least favorite track on the album, to be fair. You're wrong about True-Kvlt though that is a good song sorry

City of Evil by Avenged Sevenfold is actually a great album. Pretty much a more modern cop of Iron Maiden. Waking the Fallen is a pretty OK core album from that era. Everything after City of Evil is straight up Arena rock, but at least they're up front about it. Have any of you tried the new Call of the Void album yet because if not you really should.

Decent. Sounds almost exactly like Chelsea Grin, though, with a little Carnifex thrown in. A Night In Texas In July: a "film" directed by some dude trying to get famous off making lyric videos for YouTube.

I don't listen to that many deathcore bands, but somehow youtube had the great idea of recommending me this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALK884T5u2o I was blown away and even ordered their EP as soon as the song finished playing. Does anyone have any reccomendations for Deathcore that uses clean singing? All the harsh music and growled vocals makes for a great contrast when theres a bit of clean singing in the song. Think like in "Witness the Addiction" by Suicide Silence. But looking for rather whole bands that do things like that, rather than inidvidual songs (though I will take individual songs). Thanks!

It's not exactly completely deathcore, but maybe prog deathcore stuff like this will fit what you want. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kCU31KOlooA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlyYTmk5q0g https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CfYqnVvaXVg Erra hardly have any deathcore, if any, but they're loving FANTASTIC and you should listen to them anyways. Seriously probably the best "prog metalcore" band around. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=80ml_O1iPAE

Lucas (the main guitarist that won't learn the new stuff) is a total rear end in a top hat but he could play the first two albums live. Weird to just believe everything you read on metalsucks e: and even then it was just Lucas. Joel (the guitarist the recently left) is really quite good and capable of playing any of RoS' songs.

I was listening to the Jason Ellis Show on Sirius the other day and they were doing a "least favorite songs ever" segment and a guy played some awful new All that Remains joint (This won't end well? Aptly named song) and the co-host said "This is what it would sound like if Muscle Milk had a band" and I laughed and laughed I miss good ATR. I'm going to work out to Fall of Ideals tomorrow.

Fall of ideals was certainly their best, but the two albums after that had some bangers also. Also, I've been on a Killswitch Engage kick lately and god drat is End of Heartache and absolute monster of an album. Howard loving kills it and Adam's riffs are all great. Nothing I didn't know before, but good to be reminded of.

Kind of an odd request, but can anyone reccomend some songs bands (preferably deathcore) that deal with addiction/substance abuse? Alcoholism would be great but I'll take anything. Not looking for straightedge bands or bands/songs preaching about sobriety, but rather depicting the struggle/reality of addiction.

Yeah my favorite Howard performance is the End of Heartache, I love that record. He's just on fire start to finish. "Trading life for life.... it all must fall... it must end with this... it must end with ME!" and then the riff becomes too powerful, and I pass out from bewilderment at the ferocity of it all

The whole Rings of Saturn 'controversy' was loving stupid and MetalSucks is a terrible website. Sounds horrifying but the album was actually pretty solid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTUCGRu_DL4 I'm not sure how I feel about the nu metal revival that's going on with a bunch of lovely blogcore bands, but this one's fun: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ehtHuUK4Oo

I am absolutely baffled that some people in this thread like ANY ATR albums after Fall of Ideals. Darkened Heart was dope at the time and I was ok with Fall of Ideals, everything after that is just so, so loving bad. I'm just BLOWN AWAY by you guys actually managing to hang on for like 5 more albums before you gave up. I saw ATR play with As I Lay Dying, Throwdown and Winter Solstice in some loving tiny rear end basement exactly 10 years ago and it killed so loving hard. I paid to see ATR like 3 more times but they kept getting stopped at the Canadian border for some reason. It's ok, you can keep them now.

I got into them with Darkened Heart, which slays, and Fall of Ideals is a near perfect metalcore album. The rest gets progressively worse by the record and none of it is listenable. Phil decided he wanted to be on the radio and that was the end of the band for me. Also I seen that same As I Lay Dying/ATR/Throwdown show at The Downtown out on Long Island and it was rad.

Overcome was the beginning of the end, but both that and For We Are Many are definitely still listenable. Not every song is a gem, but there are definitely standout tracks no both. A War We Cannot Win or whatever it was called was a horrible travesty and I listened to it once. Their recent one was better than that and has a couple good songs, but it's obviously nothing like their previous content. It's a shame because Phil has one of the best vocal ranges in all of the genre, and The Fall of Ideals really showcases that.
