It came close but it didnt realy win anything tbh. I'm pretty sure it was Brundle who was in a winning position at LeMans but had a tyre blowout and crashed pretty badly. At least the TS040 managed to win the overall WEC championship last year if not LeMans.

Just depends how good the car is then and McLaren lately haven't been great at that side of things.

Fernando Alonso 'thought he was in 1995' after pre-season crash Spanish driver reportedly lost the memory of the last 20 years of his life following smash in testing Fernando Alonso woke up from his testing accident unaware he was a Formula One driver having forgotten the last 20 years of his life, according to reports in his native Spain. Alonso will miss the season-opening Australian Grand Prix on March 15 on doctors’ orders after suffering a concussion. The 33-year-old was briefly unconscious after the crash at the Circuit de Catalunya and, according to Spanish daily El País, he woke up in hospital thinking it was 1995. Asked who he was, what his job was, and what he hoped to do with his life, Alonso reportedly replied: “I'm Fernando, I drive go karts and I want to be a Formula One driver." Alonso apparently could not remember making his Formula One debut with Minardi in 2001, or either of his world championships in 2005 and 2006. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/motorsport/formulaone/11451953/Fernando-Alonso-thought-he-was-in-1995-after-pre-season-crash.html

Renault, Ferrari and Merc in 2013-2014 were in the dark as too what kind of horsepower the others could manage.

Wake up sheeple - remember McLaren's back to the future promo? That was real. Jenson went back in time to capture a younger Alonso to be their driver. Free from the emotional baggage of the Vettelreich he is the perfect driver, the only problem was the 'other' Alonso in the way. The real Alonso is dead, long live time displaced Alonso

In other news, Giedo van der Garde is trying to put the final nail into Sauber. http://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/van-der-garde-s-case-against-sauber-to-be-heard-on-monday The article says he is trying to reclaim his drive for this year, but there is no way that could happen so I guess his end game is a large settlement, but its taking place in a kangaroo court so who knows.

Well the drama has certainly picked up today! WTF Fernando?quote:McLaren chairman Ron Dennis admitted last week Alonso suffered retrograde amnesia, which he said was “not uncommon” in cases like this. Thank you Dr. Ron, I appreciate your expert contribution. quote:all we can say is that he is making good progress, and that we hope and expect he will soon be back to his brilliant best Does this mean he still has some amnesia? Is he not racing because he can't figure out what year it is, or what car he's supposed to drive? This is kind of scary.
