Hahahaha oh god. Apparently Brownbeck's cuts have pushed Kansas so far in debt it may be forced to take the Medicaid expansion. They are looking at options similar to Arkansas because the money that would come in would boost the health sector of the economy and cut their expenses (since the Feds would pick up the tab for Medicaid)

The Florida bill that would jail transgender people who use the restroom of their true gender, and permit civil suits against businesses and organizations who do not enforce the law has made it out of the Florida House Civil Rights Subcommittee on party lines: 9-4

She re-applied for a similar position at another site and was accepted ... and then Walker's budget came out with another $300 million in cuts to the University, and she was told that this new position was being eliminated, too. Her family blamed Democrats for it.

I'm trying to understand what that means but all I can think is "if you let someone use the wrong bathroom and someone gets offended they can sue you." How exactly are you supposed to determine someone's "bathroom-legal" gender? Who gets that job? What are their qualifications? Or is the answer that the bill's sponsors think all transgendered people are hairy drag queens? not that there's anything wrong with being hairy and/or a drag queen

Or do they just not give a poo poo and bank it all on the populace having the memory of a gadfly? You answered your own question. That is absolutely what will happen. Are you a politician who keeps doing / saying dumb things? Why not get some help from the pros? Call the new Trey Radel Media Group, the only media and crisis management firm run by an ex-Congressman from Florida who called himself the "Hip Hop Republican", bragged about his frequent trips to Colombia, and was shockingly forced to resign after being charged with possession of cocaine.

Yes, but not entirely with success. His bio on the site is also hilarious:quote:Fluent in English, Spanish and Italian, Radel has lived in, worked in or backpacked through nearly fifty countries around the world, sometimes living off just 10-bucks a day. His love for people, places and especially foreign cultures has taken him from South America to Southeast Asia and about everywhere in between. Ah, so he was in Cartagena all those times because of his "love of culture". Please do not tell me what he was doing in SE Asia, thanks.

In case you were wondering, moderate Democrats are still terrible.quote:“The New Dems’ message doesn’t fit on a bumper sticker,” he told CQ Roll Call. “So I said we should stand on the steps of the Capitol and shout, ‘What do we want? A comprehensive approach to job creation that includes tax reform, investments in infrastructure and a pro-growth budget that invests in our future! When do we want it? Well, we want to work in a collaborative way to bring people together!’ Hard to believe that guy's not in the leadership.
