Yes OSRS now has a f2p component. However i really, -really- wouldn't recommend playing the f2p game of either. Neither have evolved much and are pretty barren. What you remember in ye olde day is what it still is. I recommend buying a month or two of members, playing, and if you like it, stick around. If not, just don't renew.

Not as many of us play OldSchool, but if you have membership on RS3 it also counts for OSRS. OSRS has stripped-down F2P servers available though if you're interested in those, and you can play two different accounts at once if you want to multilog on RS3 and OSRS at the same time. Depending on how much bonds end up costing, the efficiency of paying for membership with coins on either game might change back and forth in the coming months. Something to keep an eye on, anyways. We have a clan chat for OldSchool, ScapeGoons. There's also a Steam group for both versions of RuneScape, El GoonSquad. e: I just discovered AutoHotKey and oh my god it looks like the best thing ever for oldschool if you have the slightest bit of familiarity with scripting, does anyone know if using AHK for dropping logs/making darts can get you banned? Rule of thumb is that you must maintain 1:1 input, so you can't script a key to be a series of actions.

Don't do any diag. mouse movements either because it's been known to get auto banned. Lots of people use the 'Sleep' function on AHK so after pressing a button it'll go through a series of poo poo before having to be pressed again. There is no concrete rule for AHK, but as long as you don't do any ridiculous poo poo with it, you're fine.

What the gently caress is gold swapping and how is it not RMTing? E: swapping gold between OSR and RS3? Good lord this is dumb. Get bots running in one and use it to pay for membership in the other. I can see no legitimate reason to gold swap, and the middleman taking a 9:1 payout is ridiculous. CashEnsign fucked around with this message at 22:59 on Mar 5, 2015 |

OldSchool News posted:Achievement Diaries The full list of requirements & rewards can be found here on the OSRS Wiki While there's no Prifddinas and thus no elf city achievement diary, this update brings two unique task sets to OldSchool, the Wilderness and Western Province diaries, rewarding players with the Wilderness Sword and Western Banner. Most tasks have been changed from their RS3 counterparts, and overall I would say the requirements seem slightly higher for each OSRS task set. The OS team seems to be positioning the Achievement Cape as a sort of pseudo-completionist cape with the elite diary requirements, here's the full list of non-skill based requirements:
Mercifully, there's no "Play 5,000 games of Castle Wars" requirement, but the maxed out barbarian assault roles might be nearly as suicide-inspiring if you can't find a good team of coordinated players. I don't see too many players acquiring a complete elite diary armour set any time soon. CashEnsign posted:gently caress gently caress gently caress fuckity gently caress we can say gently caress Goldswapping is tolerated under the guise of "but we need to buy bonds on RS3!!!" from the OSRS community, which is pretty dumb. As if goldswapping is going to stop at all after OSRS Bonds come out later this month, right?

Goonscape Visual Novel Update The evidence tab seems to be functioning perfectly so I'm really happy. As you find new evidence, suspicious items, etc. You'll fill this up and be able to have a quick look over it and hope it helps you solve the murder! I have the game planned in approximately 6 stages, and am ready to create the 4th. With some luck, I might have this ready by the end of the month!

It is time once more, beloved Goons, for HARDASS BARBASS. Joachim has informed me that Vic the Trader, Patron Saint of poopsockers, is coming to town again. For those who weren't around when Vic came to town before, he let's you trade bonus XP in skills for points in his shop which can be traded for XP lamps, BXP stars, or Skilling outfits - including Silverhawk Boots(!!!!!). This means that BXP you have in 99s or skills you don't care about, you can convert into XP or BXP in skills you actually want it in. Where Hardass Barbass comes in is that Hard Mode Barbarian Assault gives gobs of experience. Doing HM Waves 1-6 will give you ~200k BXP in Agi or Mining, or about 300k BXP in Firemaking. And then you can sell the Hard Wave 7 Ticket for 500k-1M because pubbies are stupid as hell and people going for 200M Agi XP are autistic dog fuckers who will throw huge piles of gold at you for slightly speeding up their grind. If you're interested but don't know much about BA, I believe we have my BA guide in the OP of the thread, as well as a good Defender guide someone wrote up (because I can't play Defender worth a drat). Spend several hours grinding HM BA, make some mills, and be ready when Vic comes to town to get loads of BXP in skills you hate (you can even just directly get Agi BXP and make that skill half as awful). I'm hoping to get enough BXP to ride the wave to 99 Runecrafting and Construction, among other things.
