Hachi is actually super loving awesome and it's kind of a bummer that OP started off late in the series on Toonami(when exactly did it start? I know they skipped quite a lot) because he's one of the more interesting side characters in it. Again, I suggest people read the manga! I mixed my genuine reactions to the current episode (which I stand by, I don't think just pure escalation is enough to be interesting this late in the game) with my joking about the ending (I don't like it, but I came to terms with it years ago and there are bits of it I do like), and I don't think I made the joke clear enough.

The SBSes are great fun. Someone pointed out that it's weird that the bounty posters in One Piece have all these amazing shots of some of the most dangerous people in the world on them doing cool things/looking badass/etc, how would they get those photos? According to Oda: Because there's some super-amazing photographer guy whose job it is to get all the photos for the bounty posters, of course. He's incredibly good at getting the best shots even in the midst of danger without being noticed. He's actually shown up in the series proper since that SBS, too, it's great.
