The Green Lantern books have been on the downswing since Johns stepped off, with the exception of Red Lantern and Sinestro, but I'm actually pretty sold on this particular book. It's definitely the kind of book that only someone who's already into Green Lantern could possibly want to read, but the pitch sounds exactly like DnA's Legion Lost and I'm pretty loving okay with that. Jesus Saiz is also hot off of his career defining work on Swamp Thing, so that's cool too. DC thought they could keep up Johns' good will on GL by trying to match his plotting style and perpetual high stakes without a single quiet moment, but they've completely hosed that up. Taking some time to strip the series down and go in a different direction with a limited story concept is exactly what these books need. Prez looks pretty rad. Has that team done anything else? I'm holding out hope for the Dr. Fate book, because the artist is amazing, and Paul Levitz is ok sometimes. Green Arrow has classically been my favorite DC character, but I've come to accept that he died in the old 52, never to be seen again. I'm cautiously hopeful about Hellblazer, even though some of the creator's comments about his design didn't sit well with me.

I did, and honestly it read REAL close to Brubaker/Fraction's Iron Fist story, what with all the noir-ish secret martial art societies running around, so I quit after the first few issues. I can honestly say I've not yet read anything by Lemire that I actually enjoyed.
